John Travolta And Katherine Heigl Will Star As Lovers In An Upcoming Rom-Com

If you’ve been waiting for a romantic comedy between two lovers who could pass for father and daughter, you’re in luck! Because such a comedy is coming down the pipeline very soon titled That’s Amore! and it stars discarded diva Katherine Heigl and Scientology’s permanent prisoner John Travolta. Now, you may be thinking immediately, “Yeah, it’s a no from me, dawg,” but keep those negative thoughts to yourself. That is, until AFTER you hear about the premise for this horribly misguided attempt to make us remember John as an actor and re-love Katherine once again (but did we ever really love her?)

Variety reports That’s Amore!, brought to us by filmmaker Nick Vallelonga, begins production in August, so 69-year-old John has a few months to shake the dust off of his good acting wigs. And what better scene partner could he ask for than 44-year-old Katherine, who I’m certain will not let this opportunity pass her by to nestle herself into our hearts once more? Or another take on this would be every check ain’t a good check. And once you understand that there’s nothing necessarily groundbreaking about the plot, you can make an informed decision as to whether you’ll smash or pass on this one.

“Nick Venere (Travolta) is a modern-day “Marty” – he’s never been married and his best dating years are well behind him. He’s never heard the words “I love you” and figures he never will,” said the official film synopsis.

“Patty Amore (Heigl) has her share of problems as well. Shy and introverted, she’s filled with various tics and nervous habits. A secret from her past, combined with her over-protective father, have caused her to withdraw from the dating game. When Nick and Patty meet, literally bumping into one another, they share an immediate connection. When these two emotionally damaged people attempt to date one another, their families get involved, and the results are hilarious.”

I hope you had a good yawn while reading the description because this doesn’t seem remotely interesting. However, there is a bit of spice being injected into this potential snooze fest because technologically challenged thespian Christopher Walken is also in talks to star in this film. So that’s a bit of good news, right? But only if he plays the role of Katherine’s father and challenges Travolta to a dance-off to win his daughter’s hand. And yes, Travolta would easily lose that one.
