There’s A New Reality Show Where Celebrities Compete In A Fictional Conquest Of Mars

A group of celebrities from different backgrounds will pack their bags and go somewhere no pap can reach them- Mars! Just kidding- They’ll be looking down at us the way celebs usually do, just not from space. The cast will live in an Earth-based but Mars-like setting on Fox’s new reality series, Stars On Mars. Not to be confused with the future Elon Musk documentary Dirt Star on Mars.

Stars on Mars’ cast of celebs include Lance Armstrong, Adam Rippon, Ronda Rousey, and Ariel Winter. via People:

The 12 celebrities competing on Stars on Mars include professional cyclist Lance Armstrong, comedian and actress Natasha Leggero, former NFL star Marshawn Lynch, Superbad star Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon, wrestler Ronda Rousey, Vanderpump Rules star Tom Schwartz, NFL player Richard Sherman, singer Tinashe, Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Porsha Williams Guobadia, entrepreneur and artist Tallulah Willis and actress Ariel Winter.

These celebs will be living, eating, sleeping, and strategizing with each other when they space-battle it out in exploration-themed challenges and then vote to send one of their space cadets “back to Earth” each week. And who better to host these celebs in the final frontier than Star Trek’s William Shatner, who’ll be carrying out “Mission Control” and giving the cast interstellar assignments that’ll determine the winner according to TV Line:

Fox on Thursday revealed the full cast for its upcoming reality series Stars on Mars, featuring 12 contestants who will attempt to become the last space invader standing.

According to the official logline, the dozen famous faces below will “colonize, compete and conquer ‘Mars’ until there is one victorious space invader, who will claim the title of ‘the brightest star in the galaxy.’ Celebrities will ditch their jerseys, business suits and red carpet gowns for the ultimate attire — an astronaut suit.”

Lance Armstrong better be staying off the (a)steroids for this competition. This line-up of stars is some of Earth’s best but not exactly the brightest, so now we know there is, in fact, no intelligent life on Mars yet.
