Sources Says Kevin Costner Was Blindsided By His Divorce, And He Didn’t Cheat Or Get A “Yellowstone” Co-Worker Pregnant

On Monday, Kevin Costner’s wife of 19 years, Christine Baumgartner, filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. At the time, Kevin’s rep released a statement saying that “situations beyond [Kevin’s] control have transpired,” which resulted in the 68-year-old actor “having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.” Translation: dude’s being dragged into this divorce kicking and screaming. Since the news broke, there’s been rumors that Kevin is a cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater, and that’s why 49-year-old Christine dumped his ass. But sources tell TMZ and Page Six that the gossip isn’t true and Kevin was “stunned” by Christine’s decision.

Christine is Kevin’s second wife. She’s asking for joint custody of their three kids, 15-year-old Cayden, 14-year-old Hayes, and 12-year-old Grace. Kevin also has two daughters and a son with his first wife, Cindy Silva. Cindy and Kevin were together from 1975 to 1994, and yesterday, Page Six published an article claiming Marriage #1 likely ended due to Kevin’s serial cheating. But, today, one of Kevin’s “longtime friends” told Page Six that, when it came to Marriage #2, “there was no issue of cheating at all”:

The couple were last seen together posing, apparently happily, for the cameras at the Oscars in March, and the friend added: “Kevin was very surprised by Christine’s actions, he obviously doesn’t want the divorce and he would take her back.

“It’s disappointing, he loves her and he loves his children.”

The mystery bestie says he’s not sure why Christine filed for divorce, adding, “I have no idea if Kevin even knows what the reasons are.” Kevin’s rep also vehemently denied the cheating allegations, telling Page Six they’re “absolutely not true.” At the moment, Kevin is in Utah shooting the second of his multi-movie Western series (???), Horizon, an American Saga, which he also wrote and directed. His friend says, “He’s shooting right now, and it’s all very upsetting, you don’t expect your wife to file for divorce when you least expect it.”

Apparently, Kevin’s “passion project” film series is one reason he won’t return to Yellowstone after Season 5. Entertainment Tonight reported on Tuesday that Kevin won’t be back on Yellowstone next season after recent reports claimed that he and series co-creator Taylor Sheridan have been fighting over how many more Season 5 episodes he was willing to appear in. The first half of the season has already been filmed, and the second half was supposed to be shot this summer. But now that schedule is up in the air cuz of the writer’s strike. Either way, Page Six’s sources claim Season 5 will likely be Yellowstone’s swan song.

While there’s speculation that Kevin’s busy Yellowstone work schedule could be behind his split with Christine, there’s another, much more scandalous, Yellowstone rumor making the rounds online: Kevin allegedly got one of the women working on the set pregnant! via TMZ:

One Twitter user wrote, “I wonder now, if the drama surrounding Kevin Costner and Yellowstone ‘scheduling,’ was due to the rumor of him potentially getting someone on set pregnant?” Another said, “So it wasn’t Bentley who got a girl pregnant on the Yellowstone set … it was Costner.”

But “sources close to Costner” tell TMZ that this rumor is “total BS.” Phew! Kevin already had to pay his first wife $80 million in one of the most expensive divorces in Hollywood history. Even though he got Christine to sign a prenup for Marriage #2, I’m guessing there’s a clause in there that says something like, “If Mr. Costner knocks up a rando while shooting in Montana, all this shit is null and void. Give Mrs. Baumgartner EVERYTHING!”
