Jamie Foxx Is Still In The Hospital After Three Weeks, And Those Close To Him Are Asking For Prayers (UPDATE)

Jamie Foxx was recently hospitalized in Atlanta for an undisclosed “medical complication” he suffered on the set of his film Back in Action, and even though when it was announced, it sounded like he was already on the road to recovery, three weeks later, he still isn’t back in action. It looks like the matter may be serious; a source close to Jamie shared that his loved ones are now requesting that everyone “pray for Jamie.

As we know, the Netflix film that coaxed (a now regretful) Cameron Diaz out of retirement has been seemingly full of Very Bad Things. It was rumored that Jamie had some kind of on-set firing spree meltdown, and now his worrisome hospital stay leaves the film’s fate up in the air as doubles have been filling in for him. And, another host has been chosen to replace him on his game show Beat Shazam so they can move on with filming new episodes. via TMZ:

As we reported, Jamie was in Atlanta for work on the film “Back in Action” when he fell ill, a stunt double and body double have been seen filling in for Jamie for that project.

Jamie is one of the most prolific players in Hollywood, and his condition has sent studios scrambling.

Jamie has been the host of the hugely popular “Beat Shazam” music lyric game show on FOX, which was going into production just days after he was hospitalized.

Deadline adds that Nick Cannon will fill in for Jamie. And though Jamie’s family has made the decision to keep his condition under wraps, the continuation of his hospitalization and their plea for prayers and good thoughts seem indicative of the gravity of his condition.

It was April 12 when Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, announced her father suffered a “medical complication.”

While his exact condition remains secret — tightly guarded by his family — we’ve spoken with sources close to Jamie who echo the same plea — “Pray for Jamie.”

…those closest to him say he needs all the prayers and well-wishes his fans can muster.

2023 has already had a high concentration of tough losses, so here’s hoping Jamie gets well soon and that this is more of a “ghost of Lindsay Lohan past exhaustion nap” situation, and less of a dire tragedy situation.

UPDATE: Jamie posted on Instagram for the first time since he’s been in the hospital and told his fans that he appreciates the prayers and love for him:
