After Years Of Romance Rumors, Anna Wintour And Bill Nighy Hit The Met Gala Red Carpet, But His Rep Denies They’re Together

I consider myself a walking, talking celebrity gossip encyclopedia. So why didn’t I know that Anna Wintour and actor Bill Nighy were a thing?? Well, maybe they’re a thing. It depends on who you ask. Last night, the pair went to the Met Gala together, and while Bill’s rep tells Page Six that they’re just friends, other sources insist they’re fucking. Well, they don’t say the word “fucking” explicitly, but it’s inferred.

Apparently, romance rumors about Bill and Anna, both 73, have been swirlin’ for years. They’ve been spotted together on trips to the theater and restaurants around London and New York City. In 2021, Bill was papped presenting Anna with red roses during a romantic dinner date in Rome. The year before, Anna split from her second husband, Shelby Bryan. At the time, some people pointed to Anna’s so-called friendship with Bill. But we don’t really know.

Last night was the first time Bill and Anna walked the red carpet (er, cream/red/blue carpet) together. Anna wore a patterned coat over a floor-length silver skirt. It was Chanel, cuz duh. Bill wore a navy suit, a slightly lighter navy tie, and a white shirt. This morning, Bill’s rep told Page Six that the pair “have simply been great friends for two decades. They are not in a relationship”. But other sources call bullshit:

Although reps for Wintour declined to comment about the relationship, a source close to the Condé Nast chief told Page Six: “We think last night speaks for itself.” And a guest inside the lavish bash, attended by stars from Kim Kardashian to Rihanna, said the pair spent the event together, adding: “They are so cute.”

Another insider pointed out that Wintour was smiling the entire time, saying: “They are the new royal couple of fashion! Look at their body language — I have never seen Anna like that before….even when she was with Shelby (Bryan, her former partner), he would always stand behind her.”

I know Anna is the devil, but, um… dare I say that she and Bill are kinda cute together? Unless that was Anna’s plan, avoid the controversy by busying the haters with an age-appropriate romance. It’s like Jared Leto wearing that cat suit. “Awww, a sweet kitty. Wait a sec, is that… creepo cult leader Jared Leto??” Ugh, stop trying to distract us with cuteness, you fashion assholes!
