King Charles Landed Winnie The Pooh (And Tom Cruise) For His Coronation Concert
Move over, Adele. Get the hell out of here, Paddington! Finally, a REAL celebrity has been announced for King Charles III’s star-studded coronation party. He’s been a beloved staple of the movie scene for years and is known for doing his own outrageous stunts: Winnie the Pooh! The chubby, honey-fiending bear will be joining the likes of lesser-knowns such as Tom Cruise and Katy Perry, to commemorate Charles becoming the official owner of all the swans in the UK.
After his official ceremony on May 6, Charles will hold a big musical bash on May 7 at Westminster Abbey to give the peasants a show. His current concert lineup is a hodge podge of who’s huh, so it’s good to hear that he’s bagged himself one of the world’s hottest stars. via Variety:
The latest stars to be confirmed for the Coronation Concert, which will take place in the grounds of Windsor Castle the day after the historic ceremony, are “Top Gun” actor Tom Cruise, Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger and tubby little cubby Winnie the Pooh.
For the coronation, which will honor King Charles’ ascension to the throne following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth last year, Cruise and Pooh will appear alongside “Dynasty” star Joan Collins, singer Tom Jones, adventurer Bear Grylls and dancer Oti Mabuse in a series of pre-recorded VTs in which they will reveal “little-known facts about the King.”
I wonder if certain “little-known facts” about the king will make it onto the pre-recorded tapes…Anyway, what with all the legal foolishness going on with Disney and Florida, it’s no wonder Winnie is taking a personal paid holiday to the UK. Recording a half-assed message for the king nobody wanted is better than going on the witness stand in a Florida court! Tom and Winnie aren’t the only newly announced guests. The king has kept the trend of inviting reality show hosts up by adding former X-Factor UK and Masked Singer judge Nicole Scherzinger to the roster. She stayed humble about her invitation.
“I am incredibly honoured to be a part of such a historic event,” said Scherzinger. “The U.K. has been my home away from home for many years now, so this means so much to me to be lending my voice through the gift of song.”
Charles is really scraping the barrel here. We can only hope that something will spice up this yawn fest. I’m placing bets that during Winnie’s message, he whips off his head to reveal the Original Fergie! You can’t snub actual royalty without facing the consequences!
