Open Post: Hosted By Paula Abdul Claiming She’s Been Asked To Appear On “The Real Housewives” Several Times

If you watch Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, then you know about the Homeless Not Toothless foundation that Dorit Kemsley really cares about. She hosted a silent auction this weekend, and while, of course, there were tons of her RHOBH co-stars in attendance, there was one bright shining star of a class all her own as well: Paula Abdul. And wouldn’t you know it, Miss Paula claims that she’s been asked “many, many times” to be on the franchise–and not just on RHOBH–and while she would fit right in because she’s friends with so many of the women, she’s always turned it down. Paula Abdul turning down an easy check? Hmm… I’m skeptical. And didn’t Nicolette Sheridan just pull a similar trick for attention?

Page Six spoke to Paula at the charity gala this weekend. Dorit is a board member along with stars like Sharon Stone and William H. Macy, but Paula was just there because she’s such good friends with everyone, I guess. Paula says that she’s been hunted by Bravo for a spot on the show, and she would fit right in because she knows lots of the cast. Is this a pitch?

“I’ve been asked many, many times,” the Grammy winner, 60, dished Saturday night at this year’s Homeless Not Toothless Hollywood Gala, where cameras were rolling for the 13th season of Beverly Hills.

The pop star said that series was a top contender but not the only one.

“And some other franchises, too,” she teased. “I’m not gonna tell you [which].”

Though Abdul would be an organic addition given that she’s “friends with a lot of the women” and has been “for a long time,” she’s enjoying being a viewer — for now.

“As much as I am absolutely the biggest fan and I love watching,” she explained, “it’s a lot of drama.”

Paula then went on a rant about how great Kathy Hilton is. This makes sense to me because both women have big Pills-energy and remember, Paula posted that picture of her face edited into a tween while at Kathy’s party last year, so they’re obviously friends:

At our mere mention of Kathy Hilton, Abdul blurted out, “I love her!”

And when we brought up how Hilton has yet to film with her former castmates for Season 13, the Straight Up singer said, “I know what’s going on and everything, but you know what? She will always be a fan favorite.”

She added that the socialite, 64, “can come on whenever she’d like to.”

But the thought of playing “peacemaker” for sparring sisters Hilton, Kyle Richards and Kim Richards — whose rocky relationships have been documented on RHOBH since its 2010 premiere — made Abdul giggle nervously.

“They have their own dynamics, and they’re so great in front of the camera — knowing the camera is there, but also completely forgetting the camera is there and just being real,” she said.

I think we know why Paula has declined to be on Housewives if this is, in fact, true. I mean, remember how hard it was for Erika Jayne to keep that story straight about Tom Girardi getting robbed at gunpoint and her son flipping his car? Paula would not want to be scrutinized for that alleged plane crash that there is no record of. One dinner party on any of these franchises would crumble the tale!
