41-Year-Old Marques Houston Says He Doesn’t Like Women His Age Because They’re “Independent” And Have “Baggage”

There’s a new man on the block explaining why it’s totally cool to get with 18-year-olds that you met when they were even younger. Whatever Leonardo DiCaprio’s burner Twitter account is, he’s for sure retweeting this. 41-year-old Marques Houston, who was in the R&B boyband Immature in the 90s and also played nerdy neighbor Roger on Sister, Sister, has been married to 22-year-old Miya Houston for almost three years. They met when Miya was only 17, got engaged when she was 19, and she gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Zara, in December 2021. You do the math and tell me if there’s anything gross going on here. But listen, Marques has a good reason for being into younger women–women his age are dreadful because they’re “very independent.” And don’t get him started on women with children, which he views as a “red flag.” How a man can explain how he acts predatory out loud while never realizing it is truly one of the great mysteries of the universe.

Marques spoke to Page Six for some reason, and he let us all know that women his own age have too much “baggage” and that while dating, he avoided women with children the way I still avoid Coronavirus:

“A red flag to me [was] always with a woman that had a kid,” he said. “Nothing against single women, but single mothers with children are a red flag for me.”

But hey, he’s not an asshole, he actually respects the shit out of women with kids, allegedly:

“I tip my hat and respect women that are raising children on their own,” he told us. “But when I grew up, I never really wanted to have kids…”

“I would talk to my dad a lot, and he would always tell me to have your own kids because you never know what the baby daddy’s are about. So if you’re gonna have kids, make sure it is with a woman that never had kids. So that was always my red flag… and a woman with an attitude. I don’t like women with funky attitudes…”

“I’m 41, she is 22. I could’ve married a 44-year-old woman, and it could’ve been disastrous…”

“Women that are my age… they kind of have a different outlook on life. Like a lot of women my age are very independent. They are very like, “I don’t need a man to do this for me ’cause I can do it for myself.” I come from a generation that I love to provide for my wife.”

He added of finding the right woman, “There’s a lot of women my age I’ve dated, they may have baggage. They may have kids, they may not. There’s so many different women I’ve been with throughout my life, and it just so happens to be that this one [Miya] caught my heart. Everything that I prayed for–and everything that I wanted in a woman–she came with. Although she was young, I’m young in spirit.”

But before you come for Marques, don’t! He’s already been called out for years during his boyband days for always having thin, light-skinned women in Immature music videos:

“In the Immature days, we [would] have light-skinned girls in our music videos. Then people would question… “Why can’t you get a black girl?” And then it’s like, “Oh yeah, I only like light-skinned girls.” Then the plus-size girls will come and get me. I was like, “Man, I can’t catch a break.””

Yeah, poor creepy asshole, Marques. Can’t catch a break, indeed.

I’m calling it now, Marques Houston is going to start a “male supremacy” podcast. With Andrew Tate on house arrest in Romania and looming charges in the UK coming his way, there is an opening in the market. I mean, all the qualifications are there: Marques is a sexist and an ageist who talks too fucking much… Actually, that’s pretty much all you need.
