Samantha Markle Has Re-Filed Her Defamation Lawsuit Against Half-Sister Meghan Markle

April 15, 2023 / Posted by:

Samantha Markle sued her half-sister Meghan Markle last year for defamation over shit that Meghan said during her interview with Oprah in 2021. (The people should sue Samantha Markle for bringing up that damn interview again!) Meghan said things during the interview, like that she was raised as an only child, that Samantha didn’t like. Or someone told her she could sue for that because she did. Meghan’s side argued that she was just sharing her own opinion on her own childhood, and it’s her First Amendment right to do so. The judge ended up throwing the lawsuit into the trash earlier this month. Well, Samantha pulled that lawsuit out of the trash, wiped away the remnants of the judge’s lunch, changed some stuff on it, and re-filed it. Fingers crossed for ole’ Suin’ Sammy.

Samantha’s first go at suing Meghan for defamation ended with the judge deciding that the“defendant merely expresses an opinion about her childhood,” in response to Meghan saying she grew up an only child during her Oprah interview. So after two weeks of plotting, tweeting, and binge-watching Harry and Meghan, Samantha feels that she’s got new evidence to prove her half-sister made false and defamatory claims against her. Samantha’s lawsuit now moves away from the Oprah interview and focuses more on Netflix’s Harry and Meghan. via Daily Beast:

The new allegations are part of an amended version of Markle’s defamation lawsuit against Meghan, filed within hours of a two-week deadline a judge had set for her—after granting Meghan’s motion to dismiss the original claim.

In a statement at the time, Markle’s attorney swore they’d be returning with an “even stronger” case.

As opposed to focusing on Meghan’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the amended complaint zeroes in on Harry & Meghan. In the series, Samantha Markle claimed, Meghan made statements seeking to “demonize” her, portraying her as “a liar,” “a fame seeker,” and “a racist.”

She even alleged that some of Meghan’s fans launched “hate-filled smear campaigns” against her as a result of the show, saying she’d been the target of “death threats” and “trolls” who hacked her Twitter account.

Death threats on Twitter? Here’s some legal advice for Samantha that’s absolutely free: delete Twitter. There, problem solved.

The amended complaint states: “The series is disparaging and hurtful on its own; and the statements when taken individually or collectively, weave a narrative of lies that Meghan hides behind in an attempt to bolster her own false ‘rags-to-riches’ while actually discrediting her sister calling her a liar and ‘fame seeker,’ and far worse, going so far as to publish statements which imply or state that [Markle] is racist.” Here’s more on the amended complaint:

At this point, Samantha’s just scrolling through the depths of every streaming service to find something she can sue Meghan over. I’d say this lawsuit is a waste of time and resources for her, but I don’t think Samantha even has any!
