Country Singer Travis Tritt Joins Kid Rock In Boycotting Bud Light For Partnering With Trans Influencer Dylan Mulvaney

A few days ago, trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney announced she’d signed on to a partnership with Bud Light. In a video posted to social media, 26-year-old Dylan showed off a commemorative can of beer with her face on it, which the brand sent to her to mark the one-year anniversary of the beginning of her gender transition. That’s nice! Anyway, moving on to — no? We’re not moving on? Sigh. Newsweek reports that Kid Rock and country singer Travis Tritt are now boycotting Bud Light because they hate trans people
Here’s Dylan’s “controversial” Instagram announcement, which she posted on Monday:
That shit infuriated Kid Rock so much that he posted his own video. And his was a touch angrier than Dylan’s. We open on Kid’s backward MAGA hat (now in baby blue!). He turns around and says, “Mm hmm. Grandpa’s feelin’ a little frisky today,” which EWWWW. He proceeds to announce that he’s gonna say something “as clear and concise as possible.” Then TWIST, Kid takes out an assault rifle and shoots up a bunch of boxes of Bud Light. He turns to the camera, flips the bird, and says, “Fuck Bud Light, and fuck Anheuser-Busch!” What a totally level-headed reaction to a brand partnership announcement!

The next day, Travis Tritt jumped on the hatewagon. He tweeted that he was boycotting all Anheuser-Busch products on his tour, and he knows “many other artists who are doing the same”:
I will be deleting all Anheuser-Busch products from my tour hospitality rider. I know many other artists who are doing the same.

A little later, Travis added that these “other artists” might not admit they’re boycotting the beer cuz they’re scared of being “ridiculed and cancelled.” But not him! Travis also provided a helpful guide listing all the Anheuser-Busch products. Sorry, sober transphobes, no more O’Doul’s for you:

Anheuser-Busch responded with this statement:
“Anheuser-Busch works with hundreds of influencers across our brands as one of many ways to authentically connect with audiences across various demographics and passion points. From time to time we produce unique commemorative cans for fans and for brand influencers, like Dylan Mulvaney. This commemorative can was a gift to celebrate a personal milestone and is not for sale to the general public.”
The online reaction to Kid and Travis’ posts has been mixed. Obviously, they had their supporters, but from what I can see, most of the comments are mocking them. One person told Travis that “getting paid in drink tickets isn’t a rider.” Another posted this old picture of Kid Rock and a drag queen:
There is always receipts! Here we have Kid Rock enjoying a bud light next to a drag Queen. It didn’t bother him back them. Yeah that’s right….he’s now trying to stay relevant so he spews fake outrage. But if it didn’t bother him then, it doesn’t really bother him now. pic.twitter.com/iTK82ITvGG

Dylan has yet to directly comment on any of the controversies, but in a recent video, she admitted that “there’s been a lot going on,” and she’s been feeling a little down. Chin up, Dylan. If a Trump-lovin’ anti-vaxxer dirtbag like Kid Rock was actually on your side, that would be something to be down about. No, this is a win. In fact, you’ve inspired me to go out and buy some (bear with me while I check Travis’ list)… Rolling Rock. Gonna get my Mare of Easttown on!
