Andy Cohen Addressed The Flak He’s Catching For Applauding “Real Housewives” Who’ve Lost Weight With Ozempic

Bravo Daddy Andy Cohen is no stranger to having to put his foot in his large mouth after giving the wrong take (see: backpedaling after caping for convict, Jen Shah) or shit-talking someone (see: Ryan Seacrest) or just doing the most at an inappropriate time (see: lambasting NYC mayor, Bill De Blasio). This time, he’s walking back his adoration of a couple of Real Housewives who’ve appeared on Watch What Happens Live and admitted to using the controversial diabetes-turned-weight-loss-drug, Ozempic.

As we know from Bethenny Frankel’s recent rant against it and several admitting to using it to slim down (NOT KYLE RICHARDS THOUGH, says Kyle Richards), Ozempic (and its kin like Wegovy, Mounjaro, etc.) has become a popular trend in the celebrity (and Housewives) world. A few housewives who’ve been on WWHL recently admitted to using it after thirsty Golden Retriever Andy fawned over their noticeably more svelte figures and outright asked if they’d been using it. For reference, here’s The Real Housewives Of New Jersey’s Dolores Catania copping to using “Ozempy” so she wouldn’t be “looking bigger than anyone else” at the upcoming cast reunion as an insufferably excited Andy salivates:

Andy Cohen got criticized for this interview on #WWHL where he asked if Dolores Catania was another RHONJ cast member using ozempic. #ozempicweightloss #ozempicjourney #ozempicshot #rhonj #dolorescatania #transparency #bravotv #bravowwhl #realhousewives #realhousewivesoftiktok #realhousewivesofnewjersey

And here’s a delighted Andy as RHONJfriend-ofJen Fessler says she lost weight with “peptides” (so, Ozempic, Et al.):

But, many viewers took to social media because they weren’t here for Andy’s praise and normalizing of it, so he then took to his radio show to address the concerns and attempt to smooth things over. via Page Six

During Wednesday’s episode of his SiriusXM “Radio Andy” show, the Bravo exec read a DM from a fan who requested he “stop congratulating” his guests for “looking so thin and asking if they’re taking Ozempic.”

Per Cohen, the message read, “Tonight was the third ‘Watch What Happens Live’ guest who I’ve heard you praise for losing weight and inquiring about Ozempic.”

Cohen, 54, then said, “Well you know what? This woman – she’s right.”

After responding to the initial backlash during Wednesday’s show, Cohen admitted to co-host John Hill that he’s not sure how he should approach weight loss – and Ozempic – with his “Watch What Happens Live” guests moving forward.

“I’m trying to deliver the goods for my audience watching,” Cohen explained. “I mean, if Dolores shows up looking 15 pounds lighter, I gotta find out how it happened.”

I mean, does he really have to find out how it happened? Maybe just don’t ask people about their bodies. We can all assume what’s going on at this point; we live in a time when reality stars admit they’d eat ACTUAL shit if it helped them look better. Let’s get the ball rolling on starting a rumor about the benefits of shit-eating; reality TV needs spicing up!
