Quentin Tarantino Confirms That His Tenth Movie Will Be His Last Because Cinema Is Dead!

It’s finally happened. Acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino has had enough of filming violence, heady dialogue, and women’s bare feet for the big screen. It was rumored that his Tarantino’s 10th film will be his last, and he’s confirmed it in a France Inter radio interview. Pour one out for film bros and foot fetishists everywhere.
The Django Unchained director has said in the past that he’d quit making films when he made 10 of them or hit the age of 60. Having just turned 60 and starting on his 10th feature, the end of Quentin’s film career is nigh. His last movie is currently titled The Movie Critic and is about a woman who has lost her shoes in 1970s Los Angeles. Not really. There’s not much known about the details of the film, just that it will take place in LA in the 70s and star a female lead, perhaps played by Cate Blanchett. So, with all the talk around the upcoming film, people have wondered if he’d stick to his promise. If you’re hoping to see a washed-up movie star shoot some people while dropping some fuck bombs at your local AMC theater, you’ll just have to settle for reruns of Pulp Fiction because it’s ovah for Tarantino. via World of Reel:
Quentin Tarantino has consistently promised to stop making films at 60, an age he has just reached. He confirms that “his next film will definitely be his last cinema film”.
He went on to add that the current cinematic landscape is total garbage.
“I think that’s how it is in cinema, it’s cyclical in Hollywood, it comes and goes. In my opinion, things will change, for the better. I’m not saying throw everything away: you could say that in a decade that’s considered a creative wasteland, there are still a few films that break through the glass ceiling, that don’t conform to the norm. That makes them even more valuable.”
Um, excuse me? Today’s movies are being released in a “creative wasteland”? I refuse to believe that a horror movie about Winnie the Pooh and Cocaine Bear are not HIGH ART! You can’t come up with concepts like these and not be full of creative juices (or at least on some sort of hallucinogenic drug). Even though we won’t be getting any more 3+hour features from Quentin, we CAN expect a YA novel series soon!
“Afterwards, I will do books, TV series, plays… But on the cinema, I will throw in the towel.”
If Quentin plans on going to the small screen, he’s going to have to do some adjusting to his scripts. I can’t wait to see his damns and fucks given the TV treatment!
