Open Post: Hosted By Dick Van Dyke Letting Us Know That He’s Ok After His Accident

March 26, 2023 / Posted by:

After reading that Dick Van Dyke was in ANOTHER car accident, my first thought was, “He’s alive, thank GOD!” followed by, “Someone get this guy a chauffeur!” It’s unlikely that my latter wish will come true, but at least we will have Dick to treat us to more of his bizarrely charming Instagram posts for the foreseeable future. He’s just got a few scrapes from his automotive whoopsie, which he happily showed off to paps on Friday. There’s no stopping Dick’s effervescence! (Somebody should stop his car accidents, though.)

In case you missed it, Dick was driving his 2018 Lexus LS 500 and crashed into a gate. After several days of convalescence, paps caught up with the triple threat (actor, dancer, and road warrior) to ask him how he was doing, and he’s doing well enough to joke about his dead friends. via TMZ

The video is at TMZ, but here’s a post-crash DVD!

He apparently got two stitches in his bottom lip. I’m nowhere near 97, but just the thought of getting stitches makes me wince; so good on him for rolling with the punches. Now that we know that Dick is fairly recovered, it’s time for us to take action and destroy the gate that has it out for him! I don’t care if it’s “just a gate.” A gate can’t threaten one of the world’s greatest treasures and NOT face the consequences!
