Jane Fonda Says That Jennifer Lopez Still Hasn’t Apologized To Her For Accidentally Cutting Her Eyebrow While Filming “Monster-In-Law”

Back in 2005, the criticality-watched film Monster-in-Law blessed the movie-going public by putting two titans of acting on the same screen: Jane Fonda and Elaine Stritch. However, they were only in like two scenes together. The rest of the time, you were subjected to Anaconda’s Jennifer Lopez. If you thought sitting through a JLo joint for $12.50 (adjusted for inflation) was a struggle, at least you didn’t get a diamond-encrusted slap in the face for your troubles! According to Jane, during the famous slap scene, Jenny was being a little too real and ended up giving her a cut on her million-dollar face. Worse yet, the Superbowl singer never apologized for it!
In the film, Jane detests and disapproves of JLo for getting with her son. The feud boils over into a scene where the two engage in a slap fight. On The Drew Barrymore Show, Jane explained that while she was ready for the scene, she wasn’t expecting blood to be drawn! via Insider:
“The thing that comes to mind right away is we have a slapping scene,” Fonda said. “I slap her, she slaps me, I slap her. Well Jennifer, as per Jennifer, she had this enormous diamond ring, and so when she slapped me one of the times, it cut open across my eyebrow.”
The 85-year-old actor added: “And she’s never apologized.”
SCANDAL! Just because you had a hit song on FM radio doesn’t mean you can go around slapping Hollywood royalty and NOT apologize! While she has yet to respond to this particular revelation, JLo discussed the moment in one of her YouTube videos.
According to the singer, Jane encouraged they get physical. It began with poking until the slapping commenced. She admits to punching her in the face “by mistake” (someone find the uncut footage!) and giving her co-star a “blood blister.” Notice that she played down the fact that she actually busted Jane’s head open! JLo said that she apologized and that Jane supposedly “didn’t care” about the injury. Well, apparently, Jane did care because she doesn’t remember hearing “I’m sorry!” coming from JLo. With slapping being the hot Hollywood activity at the moment, I think they should recreate the Monster-in-Law scene. Maybe Jane can slap some sense into Jennifer and tell her to just pick a freaking house!
