Sheryl Lee Ralph Reveals She Was Sexually Assaulted By A Famous TV Judge
Sheryl Lee Ralph must be protected at all costs. However, some folks don’t understand or respect her many contributions to The Culture. And in a recent interview on Angela Yee‘s podcast to promote her book DIVA 2.0: 12 Life Lessons From Me For You, Sheryl admitted her personal #MeToo moment when a disgusting TV judge played an unwanted game of tonsil hockey with her while she was promoting one of her former television shows. And whoever that judge needs to throw himself on the mercy of the court because once you disrespect Sheryl, we need to overrule your title with a swift kick in the ass.
Vibe reports during Sheryl’s interview on Way Up With Angela Yee, she got into the subject of a time when a vile piece of entitled trash greeted Sheryl with an unexpected kiss upon introduction. However, like most people who don’t understand the assignment, ramming your tongue down someone’s throat is not a proper “hello.” As a matter of fact, Sheryl should have chopped him in the throat for this crime, but we all know she’s way too classy for that.
“I’m at a very public place. I was suited. I was handling my business for the television show I was on at that time. We were on the same network. This man walked in grabbed me by the back of my neck, turned me around and rammed his nasty a** tongue down my throat. And everybody at the network saw it.”
Ralph even shared that the then-mayor of New Orleans was prepared to take action against her assailant, but the network’s executives urged her not to report the crime.
“The mayor of New Orleans at the time was Marc Morial,” Ralph said. “I called Marc Morial, he said ‘you want me to send the police there right now? ‘Cause we will fix his—you know what—right now.’ Somebody at the network tapped me on the shoulder and said ‘please don’t.’ Do you know that they did not want any bad press around their show and did not care what had just happened to me.”
“That’s the kind of stuff that happens. That’s what happens. That’s what makes it hard for women to speak up about these things.”
Using my powers of deduction, I started pondering who this alleged sleaze ball could be. Sheryl has already cleared Judge Greg Mathis so we can take him out of the lineup. Then I thought, “She was on TV in the 80s. Was it Judge Wapner?” BUT THEN I threw Marc Morial into the mix. He was the mayor of New Orleans from 1994 until 2002, when Sheryl was on Moesha. And do you know who was a TV judge during that time? Judge Joe Brown!! But unfortunately, we will never know because Sheryl will never tell. But maybe if we can trick her into playing “Blink once for Yes, and twice for no,” we can get the answer to this very important mystery.
