Hot Slut Of The Day!

Tyco’s Zero Gravity Cliff Hangers (with Nite Glow) racing set!
During the Christmas season of 1988, my little gay ass was definitely asking Santa Claus to please, please, please put a Super Star Barbie or a Barbie and the Rockers doll underneath my Christmas tree. And as I was begging for a Barbie, the other boys in my class were begging for one of the IT toys of 1988: Tyco’s Zero Gravity Cliff Hangers racing set! Tyco’s Zero Gravity Cliff Hangers racing set wasn’t your basic slot car set (yes, “slot car,” so go ahead and call it today’s Hot Slot Of The Day!). The set not only took cars upside down, but it glowed in the dark! This toy was definitely responsible for a rise in blood pressure among kids in the 1980s because it was THAT thrilling.
Tyco’s Zero Gravity Cliff Hangers racing set was made up of two glow-in-the-dark racing cars and a glow-in-the-dark race track featuring an upside-down loop, a “death defying spiral,” and a wall curve. Not included: a bottle of Valium for parents to down after trying to put this mess together. Also not included: an eye patch for a kid to wear after a car going too fast flies off the track and hits their face in the dark.
One of my friends had this back in the day, and I don’t think either of us ever completed the track without one of our cars careening off of it. But if my mom bought me Tyco’s Zero Gravity Cliff Hangers, I would’ve eventually conquered the track. And by that, I mean I would’ve used it as an extremely theatrical runway for the Barbies I stole from my sister to stomp on.
