Tyra Banks Explains Her Decision For Leaving “Dancing With The Stars”
Smize Queen Tyra Banks has been experiencing a bit of a renaissance for the past few years, but unfortunately, it has all been pandemic related. For starters, she began hosting Dancing With The Stars back in 2020, although many thought she would have made a better contestant than host. Conversely, during this time was the resurgence of how horribly her series America’s Next Top Model has aged over the years, and if anything, the producers of DWTS should have looked to that as the litmus test for how she would be as a host. But now it no longer matters as Tyra is doing the foxtrot on out the door at DWTS to focus on other endeavors, including her ice cream brand SMiZE & Dream.
According to E! News, Tyra no longer wants to be on top as the host of Dancing With The Has Beens, and I really can’t blame her. But while other famous types announce they’re leaving a project to “spend more time with their family,” Tyra’s reason is to spend more time with her businesses.
The Dancing With the Stars emcee—whose been co-hosting the competition show since 2020—recently revealed that her focus has shifted on to her personal businesses, including her ice cream brand, SMiZE & Dream, which means it may be “time” to put down her hosting mic.
“I feel it’s time for me to really focus on my business and entrepreneurship, but also producing more TV but behind the scenes,” she told TMZ on March 17. “So, you know what? I think it’s time to graduate from the dance floor to the stock market floor.”
Tyra, what is wrong with you? How do you go from starving, ambitious young wannabe models on ANTM to now shilling a line of ice cream years later? But that ice cream is Tyra’s heart!
“I think my heart, my soul is into my business, it’s also into producing new TV,” she continued. “I really, really wanna focus on my business and you can’t do that hosting a show, so you’ll see me creating things, not just hosting.”
We should all be thankful that Tyra is focusing on ice cream and not focusing on, well, bringing back her cursed daytime talk show!
I mean, we, as a people, barely survived that fuckery.
