The City Of Glendale, Arizona Will Temporarily Change Its Name In Honor Of Taylor Swift’s Upcoming Concert

Get ready for the Swifties to spontaneously combust once they get to Glendale, AZ, ahead of their guitar goddess Taylor Swift‘s upcoming The Eras Tour. As the kickoff date is now only a week away they’re all resting their vocal cords so they can sing along with TayTay as she takes them through her journey from fresh-faced teen songstress to seasoned lady of lovin’ who exacts her vengeance through the power of song. And as a special bonus for those who get to see her at the beginning of this lucrative excursion throughout the land, Glendale will be renaming their city in her honor during the tour’s two-day run.

According to Complex, St. Patrick’s Day will be just a little more festive with Swifties adorned in shamrock t-shirts and plastic green jewelry singing ‘Bad Blood’ to anyone they find out is a fan of Drake or John Mayer. Therefore, Angry Acres (?) will be transformed into the town hosting the worse sorority mixer EVER, but the city’s mayor Jerry Weiers doesn’t care. Because he realizes they’re about to make a shit ton of cash from this blessed two-day event. So if that means hosting Swifties in the confines of Jilted Junction (?) they will gladly call the city whatever they need to.

“There is no need to calm down, we’re fearless and doing something highly unusual to celebrate the fact that Taylor’s concerts start right here!,” reads a statement from the city laden with Swift song titles, according to Fox 10 Phoenix. “We know all too well that she’s one of the most influential artists of her generation and we are writing our own love story for her and greeting every Swiftie in style!”

Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers is expected to announce the actual new name on Monday. It will go into effect on March 17 and 18, the two days that Taylor will perform at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.

I can hear all the Swifties anticipating Glendale’s new name all weekend because I’m sure it will be something delightfully related to Taylor’s longstanding career. Mayor Weiers is also providing traffic information as well as places people can go to keep spending their money into the wee hours of the morning after the concert. And I’m just too sure every place he suggests will be a karaoke bar. Because after listening to Taylor’s whimsical words of woe you know her fans will need to find a place to cry, drink and sing, and there’s no better place for that than a karaoke bar.
