Grace Van Dien Of “Stranger Things” Says She Turns Down Roles After Being Sexually Harassed By A Producer

Stranger Things has made the careers of many young actors, and this past season there were two new main ones: 29-year-old Joseph Quinn, who played Eddie Munson, and 26-year-old Grace Van Dien, who played Chrissy Cunningham. SPOILER ALERT: Neither will be back for season 5, but Joseph is booked and busy and has Doja Cat thirsty, so he’s fine. Grace is less booked, but it’s actually on purpose. Grace revealed recently that she took a step back from acting after a director she worked with sexually harassed her via his own girlfriend-slash-sex friend, who was also working on the production.

Grace’s post-Stranger Things career includes roles in films V for Vengeance and What Comes Around. Variety says that during a Twitch stream on Tuesday, the actress, who also has 4 million followers on TikTok, spoke about how she could be booked and busy if she wanted to and has turned down four movie roles because of one creep:

“Here’s the thing, I have seen that some people are upset with me for turning down acting projects and deciding to stream more, but the fact of the matter is the last few projects I’ve worked on I didn’t have the best experiences with some of the people I had to work for,” Van Dien said.

She then alleged that a film producer made unwanted sexual advances toward her on set.

“One of the last movies I did, one of the producers asked me to… like, he hired a girl that he was sleeping with and then he had her ask me to have a threesome with them,” Van Dien said. “So… that’s my boss. And then I didn’t and I cried and I was so upset. But when people are like, “How is streaming better for your mental health?” That’s how. I get to stay inside my house and play video games and I don’t have my boss asking me to have sex with them.”

I mean, this is a prime example of a scum bag. Grace may get back into the movie business at some point but plans to work on her own projects so as to avoid people asking to have sex with her:

“I’m happy here, and I’m developing my own projects,” she said. “I’m hoping that someone decides to fund them because then I can be in control of my own set, and I’m not gonna ask my actors to sleep with me.”

Honestly, Grace has 4 million followers on TikTok and streams on Twitch, so let’s be real–acting is a step down for her at this point. She can make money as an influencer–and she’s a streamer? That one self-declared socialist Twitch streamer, Hasanabi, is fucking rich-rich. Meanwhile, actresses like Sydney Sweeney can barely afford to make ends meet! Hell, if Grace streams enough, she will be able to hire Sydney to work in one of her movies!
