The Kardashians Might Not Score An Invite To This Year’s Met Gala

March 9, 2023 / Posted by:

2022 was the first time all of the women of Kar-Jenner attended the Met Gala, but this year, it’s possible that none of them will receive an invite. Was it Kim Kardashian kramming her sweaty ass into Marilyn Monroe’s dress? Was it Kris Jenner’s insulting homage to Jackie O? Was it Kourtney Kardashian ignoring the theme whilst she and Travis Barker over-the-clothes groped the entire evening? Or could it’ve been Kylie Jenner’swedding at the jazzercise studio” lewk? And I guess Khloé Kardashian and Kendall Jenner were there too. Whatever the reason, sources are saying Anna Wintour is over their asses.

As a refresher, here are their awkward family photos together at the 2022 Met Gala:

According to Page Six, the 2023 Met Gala is scheduled for May 1 and the theme is “Weekend At Kunty Karl’s” “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” And maybe Anna assumes the Koven won’t be able to transform their Facetune line of Instagram “beauty” to rise to the occasion of whatever this vague Karl theme is supposed to be, or she’s just done using them for shock value; because the source says none of them made Anna’s list this year.

Sources tell Page Six that Vogue boss Anna Wintour is cracking down on the guest list at the annual fashion fete — and that no Kardashians will make the cut.

Vogue wouldn’t comment on the event’s guest list when we reached out.

But the Super Bowl of fashion has also been dinged in recent years by some insiders for being overrun with influencers, such as Kardashian acolyte Addison Rae last year.

Kim’s a Met-eran, first attending with ex-husband Kanye West a decade ago (remember the floral drapes and dramatic lip?) and has been attending with notable looks since with last year’s divisive Marilyn stunt holding headlines hostage for the remainder of 2022. Khloé and Kourtney were first-time attendees last year and were pretty underwhelming, so it wouldn’t be completely shocking if Kim gets to go and everyone else gets snubbed.

[Kim] tweeted in 2019 recalling her first time at the event nearly a decade ago: “I didn’t know anyone [and] I’m sure no one wanted me there.” She added that after the event, for which she did her own lipstick, “I went home [and] cried after of insecurity.”

She has ever-since been a regular known for rocking outfits at the event by Givenchy, Lanvin, Roberto Cavalli, Balmain, Vivienne Westwood, Versace and Balenciaga — plus a vintage Marilyn Monroe number from 1962.

But her sisters Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian only attended the gala for the first time last year — and it marked the first time the whole family was on the red carpet together, including matriarch Kris and successful sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

And, of course, someone close to the Kardashians told Page Six that the rumblings of the whole family getting the cold shoulder aren’t true.

But a source familiar with the Kardashian-Jenner clan says it’s not true that the first family of reality TV isn’t invited to the big ball.

Either way, we hear that so far it’s unclear whether anyone from the family — including Kim Kardashian, will be in attendance

Since desecrating Marilyn’s dress, Kim made her ~fascinating~ weight loss journey and procuring THE dress her entire personality. If she doesn’t get invited this year, what will she have to talk about, her Princess Diana connection? Nah, Prince Harry already pounded that into the ground. “It’s time for wedding number four,” Kim quietly vocal-fried as she peeled off a taupe latex glove to leaf through a portfolio of perplexing yet shameless and hungry individuals. A single petal fell from an oatmeal-hued rose trapped under a cloche on the uncomfortably wheaten mantel.
