The Group of Memaws Who Paid Tribute to Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show!
Rihanna’s Baby Reveal EXTRAVAGANZA masquerading as the Super Bowl Halftime Show brought mixed reviews. Some were into it. Some made fun of Rihanna for being like me at a friend’s paint party (read: doing the least while everyone does the most), but in her defense, she does have a fetus in her womb and wasn’t looking to give her unborn child a twerking-induced case of the dizzies. Others responded to RiRi’s performance by throwing themselves across their living room to cover the eyes of their innocent children from the sinful sight of a fully covered Rihanna keeping it all the way tame. And then there were the ladies of Arcadia Senior Living in Bowling Green, Kentucky, who responded to RiRi’s Halftime show by doing their own little recreation of it, which is now RiRi-approved!
When I read the headlines that a group of seniors recreated Rihanna’s Halftime Show performance, I braced myself for the news that a couple of them busted a hip from crawling around the floor like RiRi’s Halftime Show dancers. But thankfully, the RihNANAs of Arcadia Senior Living only did a teeny tiny part of the show and didn’t find themselves laid up in the hospital after breaking something from twerking. In the short clip, memaws, dressed in white like Rihanna’s dancers, gracefully part to RIHveal The Supreme RihNANA in red, who expertly lip-synchs to Rude Boy. Not pictured: the pepaws of Arcadia Senior Living busting a boner (no Viagra needed) over this hotness!

Paige Oakes, the director of community relations at Arcadia Senior Living, tells HuffPo that they started a TikTok a couple of months ago to give the residents something to do. The account already has over 123k followers, and it’s all thanks to their Rihanna Halftime Show TikTok that’s gotten 31 million views since it was posted last month. Not only did the entire internet give the ladies their flowers, but Rihanna herself gave them actual flowers. On Facebook, Arcadia Senior Living posted a picture of the flowers from Rihanna along with the note: “You Ladies Dance Was Amazing.”
Jay-Z, whose RocNation produces the Halftime Show, also sent the women flowers:

Residents of Arcadia Senior Living tell WNKY that they plan to save the flowers. Resident Sue Evans adds that she hopes their TikToks show people that senior living facilities are no longer doom and gloom:
“There’s 100 of them. And they’re from Jay-Z. My granddaughter was worried and she told her mother- “I hope she knows who Jay-Z is!” said Arcadia Senior Living resident Sue Evans.
“I thought that was wonderful, very nice of him!” said Martin.
A lavish gesture that has now become a prized memento.
“We thought about pressing them in a book but we haven’t got a big enough book,” said Arcadia Senior Living resident Ora Rampenthal.
With 93,000 followers- and counting- on their TikTok account, they hope their dances and fun videos send one important message.
“I hope they see that getting old and living in a facility is not all bad like we used to think it was,” said Evans.
There have been rumors that RiRi will go on tour after her second child arrives, and if that’s true, she should get The RihNANAs to open for her. Actually, RiRi would never go for that. Because while she loves their TikTok moves, she definitely knows that they’d show her up on tour!
