An Old Kanye West Clip Trends After His Daughter North West Does A TikTok As Rapper Ice Spice

Just like her parents. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, 9-year-old North West can’t get enough of attention on social media. Her platform of choice is TikTok, and like most kids her age, she’s into those damn dance trends. But her recent video has the internet clutching its pearls. After coming out as a major fan of Ice Spice by sharing a portrait she drew of the rapper and having her mom set up a playdate with Ice, some videos of her singing along to Spice’s songs have begun a discourse amongst the internet, pointing out that the lyrics are not an appropriate bop for a 9-year-old to sing along to. And that brought out an old video of Kanye saying that his daughter shouldn’t be on TikTok. And that made some type words they thought they’d never type: Kanye was righ-… No, I still can’t bring myself to type that.

According to Uproxx: 

Some Twitter users took exception to 9-year-old North listening to a song with sexual lyrics like, “Sayin’ he home, but I know where he at, like / Bet he blowin’ her back / Thinkin’ ’bout me ’cause he know that it’s fat.” In response to that, others pointed out that kids have been hearing suggestive popular tunes for decades now.

The debate brought back Kanye from the dead by recollecting one of many rants which he came for Kim for allowing North to be on TikTok despite his disapproval, saying, “I’m not allowing my daughter to be used by Tik Tok, to be used by Disney- I have a say so.” He went as far as to point out that he can’t take it to the courts because “there’s no such thing as 50/50 custody in society- it always leans towards the mom.” But I think he’d be surprised how much the judge’s favor would lean towards his side more often if he just took his meds and stepped away from social media forever.

Oh yes, Kanye is owed an apology. Suddenly the man who declared“I love Hitler” is a stand-up role model. Thankfully, there are some rational people left in this world, and they’re calling bullshit on the hypocrisy. Pointing out that every kid grows up idolizing adult artists.

If a little boy dressed up as any of these male rappers that only have songs with vulgar lyrics and some even carrying criminal allegations, these folks may not be as pressed about him as they are with North cosplaying as the rap world’s answer to Little Orphan Annie. Besides, North West’s father is Kanye West, her mother is Kim Kardashian, and her grandma is Kris Jenner, so her wearing a curly red wig is probably the least of her worries.
