Isaiah Washington Announced His Early Retirement From Acting On Twitter… Unless

Grey’s Anatomy’s former chief resident homophobe, 59-year-old “Frederick Douglass ConservativeIsaiah Washington, recently announced his “early retirement from the entertainment industry” on “Twatter,” with the same energy of a former Disney child actor who’s been temporarily shaded off Twitter by their pop-star ex’s new piece. Only in Isaiah’s case, it’s “the haters, provocateurs and the Useful Idiots,” who have driven him to this extreme, which presumably includes the star of The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature, Isaiah’s former Grey’s castmate Katherine Heigl.

Isaiah’s been working the Chachi circuit of late after having disavowed the democratic party and pledged allegiance to Donald Trump. His most recent role is a movie called Corsicana, co-starring Stacey Dash, in which he plays “a former slave turned U.S. marshal” named Bass Reeves. And it may just be his last. Here’s the “goodbye, cruel world” message Isaiah dribbled out on his iPhone. According to Entertainment Weekly:

Isaiah Washington, the actor best known for his portrayal of Dr. Preston Burke on Grey’s Anatomy, has announced his retirement from the entertainment industry.

On Feb. 28, Washington tweeted, “It is with a heavy heart and a sense of relief that I am announcing my early retirement from the entertainment industry today. Those who have been Following/Witnessing my journey here on Twatter since 2011 all know that I have fought the good fight, but it seems that the haters, provocateurs and the Useful Idiots have won.”

Washington’s tweet continues, “I’m no longer interested in the back and forth regarding a ‘color construct’ that keeps us human beings divided nor am I interested in politics or anything vitriolic. I will be traveling this great country before it falls into Socialism and then Communism. Until then, know that this Frederick Douglass Conservative will keep his powder dry and loves you all! I am truly grateful for your support over the years. It looks like CORSICANA #CorsicanaMovie may be the last time you see me as an Actor born here in America. Just know that I will be posting a few pictures of my retirement shenanigans here and there, but until then. Be safe out there. Your loved ones love you and need you. SALUTE!”

As you may recall, Isaiah was fired from Grey’s over a decade ago for getting into it with co-star Patrick Dempsey which led to him slinging a homophobic slur at his other co-star, T.J. Knight. At which point, Katherine diagnosed him with a terminal case of Assholeatosis and prescribed he be quarantined from spewing his shit breath in public ever again. He then waited 13 years before asking the internet for a second opinion when he #TookToTwitter to remind everybody he once had his ass handed to him by the star of 2015’s Jenny’s Wedding. ‘Memba her? Yeah, me either but Isaiah sure does. But if Katherine is to be counted among these so-called “Useful Idiots” that drove him off the ranch, she didn’t drive him far enough. EW reports that shortly after “seeing the incredible positive response to my recent announcement of retirement from the entertainment industry on social media,” Isaiah decided to give the biz another shot, but only if each of the 5 million people who saw his Tweet, all decide to give him $1.

As of press time, the project has raised $9,254 of its $1 million goal with 249 donations.

Isaiah says that if he meets his goal, he’ll have “more than enough capital to continue to independently produce my own Bass Reeves movie project for a Fall 2023 shooting schedule in Arkansas and Oklahoma,” working title: The Nut Job 3: D33z Nutz.
