“Real Housewives Of Potomac’s” Candiace-Dillard Bassett Has Been Sued By Michael Darby For $2 Million For Defamation
Potomac’s resident Gollum, Michael Darby, has returned, and he wants his precious back, and by precious, we don’t mean a ring or his soon-to-be ex-wife Ashley Darby; we mean his public image. Michael Darby, known for being a slimeball, cheater, and alleged groper, is suing Candiace-Dillard Bassett for $2 million over allegations she made about his sex life in an episode from this current season of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Doesn’t this man have better things to do? Like seizing a ring from a hobbit?
According to documents obtained by People, Gollum- I mean- Michael, filed the defamation lawsuit over a comment Candiace made to Ashley Darby alleging that Michael has paid for oral sex. Below are the comments in question:
“Ashley, your husband likes to leave you and go to a man named [censored’s] house and suck his dick.”
She then explains in her confessional, “I was not supposed to talk about this person, but he says Michael Darby is a client of his. That’s what you’re asking, cause I was holding on to that,” per the suit which was initially reported by TMZ.
Darby’s lawyer asserted in the document:
“In making this statement, [Dillard-Bassett] initially hesitated and looked off-camera, indicated that what she about to say was salacious and imprudent, but nonetheless proceeded to intentionally utter the defamatory statement.”
In the documents, Darby’s attorney also states that Dillard-Bassett “demonstrated knowledge that her statements were salacious, imprudent, and/or would be harmful to Mr. Darby’s reputation,” and were “intentional and borne out of evident hatred and disdain [Dillard-Bassett] has for Mr. Darby.”
Michael Darby needs to take several seats because what Michael is failing to realize is that he doesn’t need Candiace to make him look bad. He’s been doing that all on his own. Where to begin? Maybe with how one of Ashley Darby’s reoccurring storylines on The Real Housewives is dealing with Michael’s numerous alleged cheating scandals or how Michael overpowers Ashley through finances. And, of course, the shit cherry on top of Michael’s public image was that time he was accused of groping a cameraman on RHOP’s production crew. After this incident, Bravo released unseen footage of containing audio of an RHOP cameraman telling Michael:
“Please don’t do that,” the man said directly.
“Okay,” Michael responded.
“Please don’t do that,” the man reiterated.
Instead of trying to take $2 million from Candiace, he should sue himself for $2 million since he’s the one who’s made himself look horrible. The defamation is coming from inside the house!
