Alec Baldwin Pled Not Guilty In The “Rust” Shooting Death Of Halyna Hutchins

Alec Baldwin was scheduled to be arraigned today for his role in the accidental on-set shooting death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. According to TMZ, Alec–who’s also a producer of the film–entered a plea of not guilty (he never is, right?) yesterday and waived his court appearance, so unfortunately for Hilaria Baldwin, she doesn’t get the opportunity today to don her bedazzled chanclas and “JUSTICIA PARA ALEC!” sweatshirt with whatever baby strapped to her chest to exit the safety of Casa de Baldwin and beg unsuspecting people on the street for privacy.

As we know, the Santa Fe D.A. dropped the gun enhancement charge against Alec (and the film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed) earlier this week since the stipulations of that law were amended after the shooting occurred, which in turn lessened the amount of time he could serve behind bars and may even lead to him only receiving probation if he’s found guilty. And, of course, now Alec pled not guilty to his remaining charge, involuntary manslaughter, since he thinks he should’ve been cleared this entire time.

Baldwin’s been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Hutchins — the District Attorney initially tacked on a firearm enhancement to the charge, but that was dropped earlier this week after Baldwin pointed out the version of the enhancement statute prosecutors cited wasn’t effective until 7 months after the shooting.

…the gun enhancement charge could’ve resulted in a mandatory 5-year prison sentence. Now that it’s gone, he’s only looking at up to 18 months behind bars if convicted … and could end up with just probation.

But as a condition of his release, poor Pepaw Pew-Pew isn’t allowed to hit the sauce during this “emotional time,” possess guns (phew), or talk to any of the potential shooting witnesses unless it’s about their continued work on Rust, which will resume shooting (YIKES! screamed everyone) this spring in Montana at the Yellowstone Filming Ranch.

The actor submitted his plea Thursday, a day before he was supposed to be arraigned. As for the conditions of his release — the court ordered Baldwin not be allowed to drink, possess a gun or talk to potential witnesses UNLESS it’s regarding the continuation of filming “Rust.”

He will no longer need to appear at his hearing Friday.

It’s too bad there’s no charge for Alec just being a smug, entitled, violent asshole for as long as most of us can remember. But did you hear that just now? If you listen very carefully, I think I heard Hillary shrieking, “LIF MI FAMILY EEN PISS!” from their balcony, Evita-style; because Uber Eats just showed up with her coffee, and she needs to keep her skills sharp!
