Ben Affleck Reportedly Picked Up More Than $10 Million For His Super Bowl Dunkin’ Commercial
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez‘s Dunkin’ Donuts Super Bowl commercial was teased ahead of its release during the big game and when it came on, I’m not gonna lie to you, I giggled. Just a bit! Just a little; seeing that glint in Ben’s eye as he was finally in a location that brought him joy made me smile after seeing him want to perform seppuku at the Grammys the week previous. And that smile might not just be from Ben being in his natural habitat of a Dunkin; Bennifer also earned shit tons of money for the ad. Ben showing up in a half-minute commercial reportedly earned him over $10 million. So cute how cosplaying a drive-thru worker earns millions but the actual workers can’t pay rent!!!
So, I guess we’re supposed to see this as a rags-to-riches story because one of Ben’s first jobs was allegedly washing dishes at a doughnut shop in Boston. And you know what, for some reason, I’m still not inspired. But maybe someone out there will be amazed to hear that one day you too could go from a standard service-industry backroom job to a high-paid celebrity actor! A source tells ET that the actor-director signed a deal with Dunkin’ Donuts worth “over $10 million dollars.” In addition to the paycheck, Affleck’s partnership with the franchise includes a donation to his non-profit, the Eastern Congo Initiative.
As for his wife, Jennifer Lopez’s, cameo in Sunday’s Dunkin’ Super Bowl spot, the source tells ET that her “involvement in the commercial was a total surprise.”
“When she showed up to set, Ben told her to go through the drive-thru and film something,” says the source. “Dunkin’ loved the interaction and added it to the ad.”
The source adds that the 53-year-old star’s appearance in the commercial garnered her “just over a $1 million dollar paycheck.”
“Ben planned out the whole thing and wanted something like a hidden camera commercial,” the source tells ET. “As part of his deal with Dunkin’ he will film another commercial down the road.”
Maybe he should retire from Hollywood and be a full-time Dunkin spokesperson. It’s in his heart, and he gets paid millions for it! And JLo would definitely love being married to a drive-thru donut boy.
