There Are Reports That Those Closest To Britney Spears Tried To Plan An Intervention For Her
Britney Spears has experienced many highs and lows since her nearly 14-year-long conservatorship ended in 2021. Highs: marrying Sam Asghari (almost accidentally typed “Sam Lufti” there, Jesus) and gaining her freedom back. Lows: everyone’s still obsessed with her mental health, social media activity, and safety. Last month, Brit-Brit allegedly had a “meltdown” at a restaurant when she spotted someone filming her without her consent. Less than two weeks later, fans called the cops to check on Britney after she deleted her Instagram. She didn’t appreciate it and accused them of going “too far” and invading her privacy. Now, People and TMZ are reporting that Brit’s fans aren’t the only ones worried. Sources allege that Brit’s loved ones are alarmed by her “absolutely chaotic” behavior, and recently planned (then last-minute canceled) an intervention. According to TMZ, multiple sources allege that Britney’s behavior is erratic and volatile. They claim she’s taking meds that “hype her up,” not taking the meds that stabilize her, and has been “flying off the handle.” One insider says they’re afraid Britney is going to die. People’s sources say:
“Britney has been acting increasingly erratically and those around her have grown more concerned,” a source says. “She is often up all night, sleeps during [the] day and has a lot of anger.”
Another insider in Spears’ circle tells PEOPLE that things behind the scenes have been “very difficult” and “absolutely chaotic” as those close to her encourage her to get help.
“Everyone had hoped Britney could be convinced to seek treatment before things got any worse but they knew it wouldn’t be easy,” the source says. “She’s been going through a lot and has been increasingly combative.”
TMZ’s sources claim Britney’s inner circle arranged an intervention for her this past Tuesday. Her manager allegedly rented a house in L.A. for several months, and the plan was for Britney to live there for several weeks while she received medical treatment and psychological counseling. Sam, Britney’s manager, an interventionist, and doctors would have been present at the intervention. However, the whole thing was scrapped last minute cuz Britney became “somewhat aware” of their plans. The next day, she allegedly agreed to meet with a doctor, and sources say it “went well.” People reports that “the next steps are unclear.”
Meanwhile, everything is business as usual on Britney’s Instagram page. No mention of any interventions or other drama. Just Brit’s go-to dancing, posing, and gobs of eye makeup. Unless dressing like a cater waiter is a cry for help?
