Open Post: Hosted By The Little Teaser For Ben Affleck’s Super Bowl Commercial For Dunkin’ (Featuring JLo)
I’m starting to think the real reason Ben Affleck looked so over it during the Grammys wasn’t that Jennifer Lopez made him stay up past his bedtime. About a month ago, it appeared Ben had taken a new part-time gig at Dunkin’ because his full-time job of being JLo’s husband doesn’t pay enough. But he’s actually doing double Dunkin’ duty for the dough. So during the Grammys Ben probably had lukewarm coffee and sugary stale donuts on his mind while counting the millions of dollars he’ll be making when his Super Bowl ad drops this Sunday. And, of course, JLo is in on it as well.
Entertainment Tonight reports when we saw Ben serving coffee with a huge grin at Dunkin’, he was actually filming his upcoming Super Bowl ad. And that makes me a little sad for him, but not because he was working at Dunkin’. I’m sad for him because he looked so happy, and I’m sure that’s not a feeling you get to experience every day when you’re married to Jennifer Lopez. Even though a “source” says they were the epitome of love.
“Ben planned out the whole thing and wanted something like a hidden camera commercial,” the source told ET at the time, with a second source adding, “Jen and Ben were so loving on set. You can really tell how special their connection is. Jen just adores Ben, and they both lift each other up and make each other feel so happy. It’s really sweet to watch.”
A different source additionally told ET, “Ben is heavily involved in the commercial as he pitched the script, is directing and starring in it. Ben has loved Dunkin’ for years and this partnership couldn’t be more perfect. He’s been very hands on with the whole process and is excited for everyone to see.”
Dunkin’ even posted a teaser for their ad by letting us know Ben had something brewing for us.
As for what we can expect from this tour-de-force performance from one of our favorite “Why are they still together?” couples, it’s going to be as exciting as watching a regular morning routine at every Dunkin’ location across America.
“Ben’s Dunkin’ commercial was initially supposed to be a regular commercial and campaign, but things changed and now it will be a commercial during the Super Bowl. Jen is also in the commercial,” the source says. “The commercial is funny and cute. It shows Ben working at Dunkin’ in his free time because he loves it so much. Then Jen pulls up to the drive-thru and asks him, ‘What are you doing here? Is this what you do all day?’ They’re both very excited about it.”
The part they’re leaving out is when JLo leaps from her luxury vehicle through the Drive-Thru window, grabs Ben by the throat, and screams, “WHY ARE YOU FEEDING THE POOR?!” Because that’s how it would go down in real life if Ben ever chose to spend more time with working-class folks than worshipping her twenty-four hours a day.
