After Tim Allen Said He’d Never Flash Anyone, An Old Clip Resurfaced Of Him Flashing His “Home Improvement” Co-Star During A Taping

Over the weekend, Variety released an excerpt from Pamela Anderson’s upcoming memoir, Love Pamela, in which Pam claimed that Tim Allen flashed her on her first day of filming Home Improvement. Pam wrote that she was walking out of his dressing room when Tim, who was in the hallway, opened up his robe and flashed his dick at her. He allegedly said it was only fair, cuz he’d seen a then-23-year-old Pam naked in Playboy. Now they were “even” (*shudder*). Obviously, Tim denied that, saying,”No, it never happened. I would never do such a thing.” But today, TMZ posted an old Home Improvement blooper where he “jokingly” flashed his co-star, Patricia Richardson. And when he lifted his kilt (I guess Home Improvement did a Scottish episode?), Tim displayed zero hesitation or regret. This is a man who knows his way around a flash!

In the scene, Patricia (or her character, it’s unclear) jokes that Tim’s kilt “hangs long” and she wishes it were shorter. Then, Tim shocks her and the audience by lifting the kilt, exposing his… well, we can’t see. But Patricia confirmed to TMZ that, thankfully, Tim was wearing boxers:

“People ask me what was under the kilt when he flashed me, he was well dressed under there, I was just shocked that he lifted the kilt, not by a man in boxer shorts.”

A true Scotsman would go sans underwear under the kilt, but I’m very, very glad Tim didn’t. Here’s the clip:

Obviously, Tim flashing his boxers at Patricia in front of dozens of people is a helluva lot different than him (allegedly) flashing his naked body at Pam when they were alone. But the fact that Tim’s kilt gag generated whoops and cheers from the studio audience tells you everything you need to know about the attitude toward sexual-harassment-for-laughs in 1992. “It was just a joke! I’m a funnyman! The star of Home Improvement, the most uproariously hilarious sitcom of the 90s!” Cue Tim’s trademark grunting and snorting (*shudder x2*).
