Lucy Hale Talked About Dating A 52-Year-Old, And It’s Probably Skeet Ulrich

The topic of the week is celeb relationships with large age gaps, and Lucy Hale has something to say! Nearly two years ago, 33-year-old Lucy and 53-year-old Skeet Ulrich made everyone scratch their heads and go, “Heh?”, when paps caught them kissing on a lunch date in L.A. Less than three months later, it was reported that this random pairing had already thrown in the towel. Neither party ever publicly commented on their relationship… until now. Kinda. Us Weekly reports that Lucy went on Rachel Bilson’s podcast, Broad Ideas, and discussed her dating preferences. Lucy says that she’s dated “all the way up to 52,” and she “loved it.” While she didn’t explicitly name Skeet as her 52-year-old (and, um, he was technically 51 during their fling), it’s gotta be Skeet, right? Unless Lucy’s been screwing around with other famous 52-year-olds like Kevin Smith, Hunter Biden, or Fat Joe…

Lucy says, when it comes to dating, “I haven’t really had rules,” via US Weekly:

“I’ve dated all the way up to 52 — [from] 27 to 52. I’m 33 and I feel like I’ll probably end up with someone around my age or older, just because of the non-negotiables. I feel like a lot of people in that older age bracket will meet those.”

When the former O.C. star, 41, asked what it was like to date a 52-year-old, Hale didn’t name names, but she said she had no complaints. “He was a young 52,” the Katy Keene alum explained. “I loved it. No bullshit, almost.”

Referring to Skeet as a “young 52” makes sense, and not just cuz he was actually 51 and bears the name “Skeet.” This is the guy who quit his high-paying Riverdale gig cuz he was “bored” and called his then-29-year-old ex-girlfriend, Megan Irwin, a “prostitute” on Instagram. He also seems to exclusively date much younger women since his second marriage to Amelia Jackson-Grey ended in divorce back in 2015. After that, he was engaged to Rose Costa (the relationship began when he was 46 and she was 27), and then linked to Megan and Lucy. While Skeet’s dating history isn’t Dane Cook-levels of skeevy, he’s definitely not fucking with anyone who’s even approaching the “change of life.”

But back to Lucy, Lucy, Apple Juice (Real Housewives reference). Lucy tells Rachel Bilson that she’s still on dating apps, and her age range is set from 27 to 50:

 “I end up saying no to a lot of the younger ones,” Hale told the Hart of Dixie alum, adding that older men don’t play games. “No games is a panty dropper. … I was addicted to that chase for a while. But that’s exhausting and we’ve moved past that. No games.”

In my experience on the apps, going out with anyone below 30 was always a bust (even when I was below 30). The older guys were better, but it always irked me when a 39-year-old would drop something like, “Yeah, I’ve been thinking about marriage and kids lately. Maybe someday…” Maybe someday?! Bitch, look in the mirror; you’ve got a grey beard and crow’s feet! I don’t care if your sperm still technically works in a decade; I’m not making a baby with yer musty old dust-semen!
