Cardi B Talks About Why She Called Off Her Divorce From Offset

Cardi B appears on REVOLT’s The Jason Lee Show tonight, talking to the other Jason Lee about her relationship with Offset, their marital issues, etc. And I mean, that’s a lot of ground to cover between her half-assed divorce attempt and all of the hiding of his phone that Offset does. But Cardi is sticking by her man, and she says as much in her interview. She better because Cardi almost went to jail for that man, and pleaded out for arranging a strip club beatdown on the woman who slept with him. And she almost got in trouble again, as Cardi did not manage to complete the measly amount of community service she was sentenced to and had to go back to court over it.

During her chat with Jason Lee, Cardi got into how she and Offset weren’t “seeing eye to eye,” and getting married young was an issue in their relationship. YOU DON’T SAY! via Complex:

“This was, like, the same year that I filed for divorce and everything. I’m gonna let him talk about this, because…the main thing that was really bothering me, I’mma let him say it himself. … I want him to say it because I feel like that’s really part of his story.”

Cardi continued, “The main thing that I wanted him to stop and everything, he stopped and he changed. And it showed me that he wanted to change for me.”

“…You [can] just see when somebody’s trying,” Cardi said. “I feel like we got married so young, and we got married so, like, spontaneously. And we did know each other, but we kinda didn’t know each other. We just was in love with each other and we had, like, a little toxic relationship. …During our marriage and by time passing, we grew. We grew with each other.”

Cardi also talks a bit about how she was scared of how everyone would react when she got pregnant with her and Offset’s first child, Kulture, since she and Offset “wasn’t on really good terms.”

“And I was so scared,” she explained. “I was scared to tell Atlantic, I was scared to tell my team because we had worked so hard. I had worked so hard and everything and I’m like, “Oh my gosh, like, what’s gonna happen after this?” I just had this feeling, like, it’s going to be OK.”

Here’s a clip of the interview:

It makes sense to me that Cardi is sticking with Offset and is set on things working with him. I mean, when you almost go to jail for a man, you’d look pretty silly leaving his ass. And Cardi is actually back getting slapped on the wrist for that strip club debacle.

Back in September, Cardi pleaded guilty to misdemeanor 3rd-degree assault and reckless endangerment. She was sentenced to 15 days of community service and must stay away from the two women she arranged a hit on–Jade and Baddie Gi–for three years. In that case, Cardi allegedly arranged the beat down at the strip club because one of the women slept with Offset. TMZ says that Cardi was back in court in New York to deal with missing the deadline for her community service:

The WAP rapper showed up Tuesday to a courthouse in Queens, where the judge gave Cardi until March 1 to complete her sentence, which includes 15 days of community service.

A rep for the Queens District Attorney tells TMZ … Cardi was supposed to complete her community service by Tuesday, but so far, Cardi has done ZERO hours.

Wow, not a single hour of service to the community, I’m shocked. But doesn’t her giving us the line “Macaroni in a pot, that’s some wet ass pussy,” count for at least six hours? No. A rep for Cardi did damage control–I mean–explained Cardi is a dutiful citizen who loves serving the community even when she isn’t forced to.

Drew Findling, who reps Cardi, tells TMZ… “Personally and professionally, Cardi is dedicated to community service and charitable endeavors. She therefore appreciates the court giving her until March 1st to complete her community service commitment in Queens, New York.”

We’re told Cardi will be doing community service this week.

Mmmhmmm; likely story. I’m sure Cardi will be dropping off some boxes of Kulture’s old Birkins at a homeless shelter sometime before Friday and calling that three hours of work.
