Noel Gallagher And Sara MacDonald Are Done After 22 Years Together, And Liam Gallagher Cryptically Tweeted About It

Bloviating bell end Noel Gallagher spent the better part of 30 years feuding with his brother/former Oasis bandmate, Liam Gallagher, and they haven’t fucked with each other in about ten years after Noel quit the band. But, Noel and his second wife Sara MacDonald announced yesterday that they’re going their separate ways after being together for 22 years and married for 12. Shocking; he always seemed so placid! Ever since the dissolution of Oasis, rumors swirled that Sara’s contentious relationship with Liam was a factor in Noel leaving the band. Liam has wanted the band to reunite, and it seems like the divorce news spurred him to attempt to catch Noel’s attention by tweeting out songs he’d probably curated for this very occasion. Noel was also busy today releasing the first single from his band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds‘ upcoming album.

People published Sara and the Manchester Maskhole’s statement yesterday, proving that Live Forever is a dirty lie.

The former Oasis member and MacDonald — who share sons Donovan, 15, and Sonny, 12 — revealed they’re getting divorced in a statement to PEOPLE on Monday.

“Noel and Sara will together continue to look after their children who remain their priority,” a spokesperson said.

They continued, “Noel and Sara ask the media to respect their privacy and that of our family at this time.”

The pair met in 2000 at a nightclub in Ibiza. Gallagher recounted the moment — which he considered love at first sight — during an interview with British Vogue in 2020.

Gallagher, 55, and the publicist, 51, got married in private ceremony in England’s New Forest in June 2011, according to NME.

The musician was previously married to Meg Mathews — with whom he shares daughter Anaïs, 22 — before they split in 2000 and divorced in 2001.

And Liam swooped right in to offer his (questionable) support in the form of a tweet-storm of suggestive song titles now that Sara’s out of the picture. via The Mirror:

On Sunday night, Liam, 50, added to the wishful speculation on Twitter, as the Wonderwall singer posted a number of cryptic tweets and sent Oasis fans into meltdown.

The two brothers have been locked in a bitter feud for over a decade – with it previously reported Sara’s strained relationship with brother-in-law Liam was a major factor in Oasis’ 2009 split.

It’s believed Sara was strongly opposed to Oasis reuniting, after Liam once reportedly called her 11 times in one night to hurl insults back in 2002.

Here are some of Liam’s alleged olive branch offerings to Noel:

But Noel doesn’t seem to be wallowing in misery–unless a geriatric-sounding Adele song came on while he was trying to enjoy his morning cereal–because he just released new music today. He posted a snippet of the video for Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ first single, Easy Now, which stars a not-giggling Milly Alcock. The full album will be out in June. I’m not gonna lie, this teaser did make me long for 90s Oasis for a minute, but then I snapped out of it when I remembered I’m too damn old to get wrapped up in the toils of these two menaces fighting over who pissed on whose stereo 40 years ago:

Whether Noel takes Liam up on his reunion invitation or not is yet to be seen, but I sense that freshly divorced, tormented, sloppy touring Noel diatribes will be coming in hot either way!
