Ever since Prince Harry announced the release of Spare, the internet has been abuzz with excerpts from the tell-all book. From the tale of fisticuffs between the two princes to the origins of the infamous Nazi uniform to Harry dragging William for his hair loss, the book contains a seemingly never-ending stream of embarrassing stories designed to last a Queen’s lifetime. So, what do the Royals think of Harry’s collection of bedtime stories for unloved boys? They’re pissed! Obviously.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 40, are “very upset about Harry’s revelations,” the insider says. “It’s hit them very hard. They’re both confiding in each other right now.”
According to the source, the future king and queen would have rather “handled these issues behind closed doors” and “wished Harry wasn’t so public and cutting” with his accusations about the royal family.
Can’t do “behind closed doors” when there’s a book to sell, baby! Things have been tense for years and, according to the younger brother, it started when Will married Kate and only got worse after Meghan Markle entered the picture. The two couples have famously fought over many things, but Will and Kate thought they could keep most of the feuding under wraps. Now with Netflix documentaries and books debuting ever other week, they’re keeping extra mum.
Sources close to William told Vanity Fair that there is “a massive trust issue” between the siblings, as William is apparently worried that any communication he has with his brother — including private conversations — will be publicized.
“For now, he isn’t going to be commenting or reacting,” one insider told the outlet. “His plan is to ride this all out. At the end of the day, he will still be the Prince of Wales, and that’s what he is focused on.”
That’s the spirit, Will. Remember that you can always dry your tears on Kate’s $200,000 wardrobe. Meanwhile, King Charles is paying no mind to his prodigal son. But if the word “Camilla” ever comes out of Harry’s mouth, we might get a Will Smith at the Oscars moment.
Vanity Fair also reported that the brothers’ father, King Charles III, is quite weary [sic] of what will be published in “Spare” with regard to his wife and their stepmother, Queen Consort Camilla.
“The King is less worried about the attacks on him, but he would be very upset if Harry takes a pop at Camilla,” an informant said. “And there is every chance Harry could do that.”
Harry should stop talking about all the in-fighting and explain what was on Will and Kate’s wedding menu:
