Lisa Rinna Is Leaving “The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills” After 8 Seasons

While maintaining the same antiquated haircut for her entire run, Lisa Rinna has built a decades-long career in the entertainment biz, partly by being able to talk shit in a diverse array of avenues–whether on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or in her Depends commercials. Remember, she’s a “HUSS-ler,” and a check’s a check. But Lisa won’t be cashing those Bravo checks anymore, because she just announced that whenever RHOBH comes back from their “last season was a hot messbreak, she won’t be a cast member.

Yesterday, People published an EXCLUSIVE statement from Lisa where she broke the news that she’ll no longer be gracing the Bravoverse with her beefy lips and bucket hats.

After eight seasons of delivering sassy one-liners, drama-filled moments, social media messiness and self-deprecating lip humor, Rinna is departing the beloved franchise, PEOPLE can exclusively confirm.

“This is the longest job I have held in my 35 year career and I am grateful to everyone at Bravo and all those involved in the series,” Rinna, 59, says in a statement. “It has been a fun eight-year run and I am excited for what is to come!”

Lisa’s been a polarizing figure on the show due to her tendency to insert herself everywhere and inflame otherwise trivial situations. There’d been rumblings of Bravo giving her the boot at the end of her various harmful pot-stirring activities last season, capped off by her alleged manipulation of her account of witnessing a Kathy Hilton rich-lady-meltdown (which is just another Tuesday for Kathy). Kathy even deemed her “The Biggest Bully in Hollywood,” which had to have gotten Lisa’s lips rock-hard in ecstasy. But, apparently, Lisa wasn’t technically fired, and she and Bravo came to the decision together as her contract expired.

Posting a pre-Housewives throwback photo on her Instagram Story, Rinna wrote: “I was Lisa F—ing Rinna before HW and I’ll be Lisa F—ing Rinna After.” She then followed this with lyrics from “Roxie” beside an image of Renée Zellweger in 2002’s Chicago, which is a role Rinna also portrayed on Broadway in 2007.

“I’m a star! And the audience loves me! And I love them. And they love me for loving them. And I love them for loving me. And we love each other. And that’s because none of us got enough love in our childhoods. And that’s showbiz, kid,” the image read.

The decision was made as Rinna’s contract expired at the end of last season. After weighing her options and business obligations, she and Bravo mutually decided that she would not return to RHOBH.

Here’s one of Lisa’s humble Instagram Stories that stoked speculation that she wouldn’t be back:

Many people were probably happy to hear this news since Rinna had developed such an exhausting personality that BITCH GOT BOOED at BravoCon in October. But in Rinna fashion, she embraced her villain role and decided to “own it.”

For her part, Rinna appeared to be unbothered by the fan backlash — even when she received loud boos from the crowd at BravoCon 2022.

“I got booed! It was fabulous,” Rinna told PEOPLE exclusively. “I’m like a wrestler. The wrestlers get booed. The most famous wrestlers in the world get booed. The Rock [Dwayne Johnson] got booed for God’s sake. I loved it. I’ve been in this business for 32 years.”

Lisa will now have plenty of free time to meddle in her fem-bot daughters’ relationships and gawkily “dance” on Instagram. It was a tall order to be notably villainous on a show where Erika Jayne’s earrings exist, but Rinna rose to the occasion. No word on snoozefest/professional lawsuit filer Diana Jenkins’ contract status, but if someone could let me know when she gifts her EXCLUSIVE exit announcement to the Culver City Community Center Quarterly Newsletter, that’d be great.
