Bad Bunny Responded To That Video Of Him Throwing A Fan’s Phone Into The Water
Yesterday, Bad Bunny found himself in some hot water (hopefully not Fatal Attraction-levels of boiling). TMZ reports that the 28-year-old rapper was walking down the street in the Dominican Republic when a fan stuck her phone in his face to record him. After smiling for a second, Annoyed Bunny grabbed the fan’s phone and threw it into a nearby body of water (it looks like the ocean)! The fan was horrified, but Remorseless Bunny continued on his way, flanked by his entourage. Video of the incident went viral, and Phone-Chucking Bunny’s actions divided fans. Soon, Sticking-To-His-Guns Bunny took to Twitter to address the controversy. Bad Bunny writes that he considers fans sticking their phones in his face a “lack of respect,” and, when he is disrespected, he will respond accordingly.
Here’s the video of Bad Bunny yeeting a fan’s phone into the sea and his Twitter response:

La persona que se acerque a mi a saludarme, a decirme algo, o solo conocerme, siempre recibirá mi atención y respeto. Los que vengan a ponerme un cabrón teléfono en la cara lo consideraré como lo que es, una falta de respeto y así mismo lo trataré yo. #SINCOJONESMETIENE

Here’s the tweet translated into English:
To the person who comes up to me to say hello, to tell me something, or just to meet me, will always receive my attention and respect. Those who come and put a fucking phone in my face, I will consider if for what it is, a lack of respect, and I will treat it likewise.
Like many on Twitter, I’m torn on this one. Was the fan rude? Yes. Was Bad Bunny throwing her expensive phone into the depths of the ocean even ruder? Yes. Not all of us are young celebrity millionaires with a guest verse on Cardi B’s #1 hit, “I Like It”. Losing your phone, or, I dunno, spilling a whole cup of coffee on your laptop whilst writing a Tasmanian devil-hosted Open Post… these senseless tragedies can completely fuck up a regular person’s finances and trigger totally over-the-top mental breakdowns. And now you’re stuck writing on your boyfriend’s shitty-ass ASUS laptop, and the keyboard is weird, and it scrolls the wrong way! Sigh.
But back to Bad Bunny Vs. Rude Fan. This situation is like one of those “Am I The Asshole?” posts on Reddit. My gut feeling is that everyone here is the asshole. Too bad that poor, innocent phone is the one to pay with its life. RIP Phone. It sleeps with the fishes.
