Open Post: Hosted By South Korea Lifting Its Ban On Imported Sex Dolls

If you’ve somehow been diverted to a South Korean airport in the midst of all of the recent flight cancellation chaos, be careful that you don’t get lost on your way to the bathroom and end up in one of their confiscated sex doll rooms. South Korean airports have been intercepting sex dolls imported from other countries for years now (I guess unless they’re tasked with filling seats). However, the South Korean government must not have much on its plate at the moment because they’ve assembled to rule that South Koreans are now free to fuck life-like silicone mannequins from any country of their choosing; so book that trip, Kylie Jenner (fly commercial though)!

According to NBC News, the import of sex dolls wasn’t technically against South Korean law. Still, customs had been taking it upon themselves to detain the dolls after interpreting a morality clause in their import laws to include them.

Although there are no laws or regulations banning the import of sex dolls, hundreds, and perhaps thousands, have been seized by the Korea Customs Service, which cited a clause in the law that bans the import of goods that “harm the country’s beautiful traditions and public moral.”

Importers got the ball rolling on getting the dolls back into their South Korean customers’ horny hands. The dollmakers came out on top after the courts ruled in their favor and they’re now free to peddle their wares there, as long as the dolls aren’t child-like.

Importers complained and took their case to courts, most of which agreed with them and ordered customs to release the sex dolls, saying they are used in people’s private spaces and do not undermine human dignity.

On Monday, the customs service said in a statement that it began enforcing a revised guideline for the import of life-size adult sex dolls. It said it reviewed recent court rulings and opinions from relevant government agencies, including the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.

The customs service said it will still ban the import of child-like sex dolls or others embodying certain people. It said other countries like the United States, Australia and Britain also ban child-like sex dolls.

One of South Korea’s most popular recent exports to the rest of the world was Squid Game, a TV show with a giant, murderous doll. So, surprisingly, sex dolls were where they drew a line, and the greed of customs agents hoarding all of that plastic pussy for themselves all of these years seems like a whole other moral dilemma! You can’t tell me that room wasn’t the most popular “lunch break” spot.
