Kate Middleton Reportedly Wore £176,664 Worth Of New Clothes In 2022

The Daily Mail decided to put their interns to work this holiday season and made them add up the total cost of all the looks that Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, wore this year. Now close your eyes and imagine what it would be like if you had a wardrobe worth over two hundred thousand dollars because that’s Couture Kate’s life on a daily basis. And apparently, she set a new record.
Apparently, over in jolly ol’ England, Kate has been attending her public appearances with opulent outfits galore, and they do not come with a price tag that’s fit for the poor. The Daily Mail reports that in 2022 Kate’s motto must have been “What’s inflation?” because she wore £176,664 worth of new clothes, and that’s the equivalent of $213,620. And she beat her 2017 record!
Kate Middleton wore £176,664 worth of new clothing over the last 12 months, including a host of ball gowns and glittering jewels for royal engagements.
It marks the royal’s most expensive year to date, with a host of new outfits on show – beating 2017 when she wore £119,000 of new outfits.
To be fair, she did re-wear a few pieces from Zara, Hobbs, and Mango. But when you’re a future Queen, you better stay stylish or stay home. And since she’s in high demand for a multitude of engagements her most expensive Outfit of the Day came during the London premiere of Top Gun: Maverick. The Daily Mail adds that Kate’s work ensembles are usually paid for using King Charles’ household allowance, but she may have gotten a discount!
Her most expensive outfit came when she attended the premiere for Top Gun, where she was dressed in a £2,000 elegant black dress with jewels worth over £10,000.
The King is understood to cover the costs of Kate’s wardrobes for ‘work-related’ engagements through his official household budget, but it is not clear whether the Princess always pays full price for outfits or receives discounts.

I guess if you plan to slay, you better plan to pay too. Most people don’t even make close to $213k a year total, but for Kate, it’s just another fabulous day of frocks and fun while smiling for the paparazzi and giving her husband, Prince William, one of her planet-sized hats to cover his bald spot whenever it gets a little nippy outside.
