Ryan Seacrest Says That CNN’S New Year’s Eve Booze Ban Is “Probably A Good Idea”
362 days ago, Andy Cohen got schwasted while hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage. He went off on former New York mayor Bill de Blasio and referred to Ryan Seacrest and his cronies at ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve as “a group of losers.” Whoops! Even though Andy faced some backlash for his drunk-skunk antics, CNN pretty much immediately confirmed that they’d asked him and Anderson Cooper back for NYE 2023. However, last month, the network announced that they wanted their hosts to scale back on the drinking. Well, Ryan Seacrest has added his two cents during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. He says he doesn’t “advocate” booze on the air, and CNN’s plan to scale back is a “good idea.” Ugh, what a LOSER thing to say!
Here’s exactly what Ryan said when he was asked about CNN’s decision to put a cap on the booze. via EW:
I don’t advocate drinking when one is on the air. I don’t know how that started as a tradition, but it’s probably a good idea [to scale back], CNN. There’s some pretty respectable people or at least one, right? I think there’s a serious journalist and then a friend of mine who has a lot of fun, but it’s probably a good idea. Although the viewers probably wish they would drink more.
The serious journalist he’s talking about is either Drunk Don Lemon or Gigglez McShit-Stirrer (Anderson Cooper). The fun friend is Andy, who’s besties with Ryan’s Live! co-host, Kelly Ripa. Ryan continued:
But I think they had something to say about my show at one point, which was I’m sure from the alcohol because, I don’t think they would say what they said about our performers if they weren’t drinking. But, you know, I think our show’s a bigger, broader show and we will not drink until 1:05 in the morning. Although, I might send them some Casa Dragones Tequila just to tempt them while they’re on the air.
Good idea. Send Andy and Drunk Don Lemon some “tequila” (old-timey absinthe spiked with PCP disguised in a tequila bottle). Those two will trip balls so hard, the CNN New Year’s Eve special will get canceled once and for all. Next up, Miley Cyrus’ New Year’s Eve special on NBC. What’s her NYE Achille’s heel? Wardrobe malfunctions? This year, Ryan should jimmy a fish hook to whatever skimpy top Miley chooses to wear. And once the clock strikes midnight, he’ll let ‘er rip and free the nipples! It’s what Dick Clark would have wanted…
