Toni Collette Returned To Instagram To Announce Her Divorce After Photos Of Her Husband With Another Woman Surfaced

I did not expect to find myself digging through Toni Collette’s Instagram feed this morning using my Dlisted exclusive Detective Latoya magnifying glass (available at lesser Target stores nationwide. If you can’t find them in the aisle, check the dumpsters out back. Please do not bother the Target team members; they won’t know what you’re talking about.) looking for clues, but here we are. And I’ve got my Knives Out to prove it. Unoriginally, a silly little man, appears to be responsible for the sad state of affairs that led to this unprecedented investigation into the socials of one of our leading Certified Prestige HBO Girlies.

Toni “recently reactivated [her] Instagram account” to announce that she and her husband of 20 years, Dave Galafassi, with whom she shares two kids aged 14 and 11, are divorcing. Just hours prior to her announcement, pictures of Dave and another woman humping and slobbering on each other at the beach in Sydney, Australia, were published by The Daily Mail. That’s right. The DM. The only time we should be seeing Toni’s name in the DM is if it’s in an ad and preceded by the words For Your Consideration. Page Six reports:

Toni Collette announced her divorce from longtime husband Dave Galafassi shortly after photos of him kissing another woman surfaced.

The actress, 50, took to her recently reactivated Instagram account Wednesday to reveal she and the 44-year-old musician were going their separate ways after almost 20 years of marriage.

“It is with grace and gratitude that we announce we are divorcing,” began the joint statement, which was accompanied by an image of a floral arrangement that spelled out “PEACE & LOVE.”

“We’re united in our decision and part with continuing respect and care for each other,” the statement continued. “Our kids are of paramount importance to us and we will continue to thrive as a family, albeit a different shape.”

Collette and Galafassi — who tied the knot in 2003 and have divided their time between the United States and Australia in recent years — share two children: daughter Sage Florence, 14, and son Arlo Robert, 11.

Here’s Toni playing catch up from the back foot with a post featuring a joint statement filled with “grace and gratitude” that I don’t believe for a second. This is the only time Toni hasn’t sold me on a performance from the jump.

It’s undignified and unforgivable that Toni should have to scramble around trying to remember her Instagram password to establish a timeline like some common basic cable bitch. The Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe winning, BAFTA, Oscar and Tony nominated Toni, deserves a sparsely worded press release for her divorce announcement and should never have been put in a position where she’s forced to post a “cryptic quote to her Instagram Story that read, ‘No matter what your current circumstances are, if you can imagine something better for yourself, you can create it.’,” unless it relates to an upcoming hush-hush limited series where she and Nicole Kidman play wealthy sisters with a deadly secret. Yet, because of this… this… this… this insignificant “musician,” Toni was moved to post this photo with no caption, prompting one loyal fan to comment, “u good queen?

NO, SHE IS NOT GOOD! The disrespect is unforgivable. The DM has identified this fool Dave’s biggest mistake as a 41-year-old Sydney-based “integrative chiropractor” with a “special interest in empowering women to live a calm, connected and inspired life.” Tell you what, Toni probably gives amazing back rubs and lives a calm, connected, and inspired life (or was trying to!), but this hussy could never do Hereditary and unhinge her jaw in a silent scream so haunting that millions, myself included, have lost sleep over it.

OK, so maybe she can unhinge her jaw, but that’s beside the point. The point is, Toni is above this type of mess. Dave can go ahead and take his little human back-scratcher and sashay away. We’ve got Toni from here.
