Open Post: Hosted By Camila Cabello Making Fun Of Herself For How She Pronounces “Christmas”

November 23, 2022 / Posted by:

I guess all that making out with Shawn Mendes in front of the paparazzi really did a number on Camila Cabello‘s tongue dexterity because when she covered I’ll Be Home For Christmas last year, people were a bit confused by how she was pronouncing the holiday’s name as though she’s a toddler with a burnt tongue who just had dental surgery. Not one to shy from attention, Camila leaned in and poked fun at her own inability to say Christmas, getting over 2 million likes on TikTok.

The clip of Camila singing “Christmas” as “Quismoiss” is from last year’s PBS special, In Performance at the White House: Spirit of the Season. But it’s recently been making the rounds on social media:

And here’s a different performance where Camila butchers Christmas’ name!

After Camila’s Baby Huey-like pronunciation of Christmas went viral, she decided to make fun of herself on TikTok. via Uproxx:

Camila Cabello has had a lot going on this year — from releasing the infectious, massive hit song Bam Bam to getting booed at the UEFA Champions League Final. Luckily, the singer is also great at laughing off the negative things with entertaining TikToks, which she’s done again today.

…In a new TikTok, Cabello plays herself and her vocal coach, who’s trying to help her with the pronunciation of the word but eventually gives up.

Here’s Camila’s TikTok:

Well, if Camila wants to capitalize on her scrambled pronunciation of Christmas, she can trademark the term “Queen of Quismoiss.” I guarantee you that nobody will fight her on that one.
