Open Post: Hosted By Gwyneth Paltrow Trolling Martha Stewart In A Goop Gift Guide Promo

Gwyneth Paltrow and Martha Stewart have been busting each other’s Baccarat balls for the last eight years after Martha basically said that the self-proclaimed guru of everything, Gwyneth, should shut her white sturgeon caviar-hole, stick to acting, and stop trying to be Martha Stewart. But Gwyneth never gave up on her dream, and just like every other year she shat out her Goop guide earlier this month. Despite the fact that no one actually uses the gift guide to guide their gift buying and only peruses it to have a quick laugh, Gwyneth spent money on a name-droppy promo (with a Cameron Diaz cameo) to remind everyone that the holidays are quickly approaching and she’s still not ready to let go of Martha’s past reads.

Martha, always ready to serve up her roasts hot and with a dash of narcissism, fired the first shot at Goop back in a 2014 magazine interview. via Page Six:

In 2014, Stewart told Net-a-Porter’s Porter magazine that Paltrow “just needs to be quiet. She’s a movie star. If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn’t be trying to be Martha Stewart.”

Six years later, she was a guest on Watch What Happens Live and voiced the thoughts all of us had about Gwyneth’s freshly released nasty exploding snatch candle.

Stewart’s Goop disses didn’t stop there. In 2020, she blamed “guys who are horny” for the reason the brand sold out its line of vagina candles.

“I wouldn’t buy that candle,” she told Bravo host Andy Cohen on his late night show “Watch What Happens Live.”

Best not to bite the horny hands that’ve been quenching your thirst, Martha. Then the two foes waged a cake recipe battle. So, Gwyneth’s tried her best to give Martha some shit in return, but as usual, her attempts at humor left much to be desired.

After picking out gifts for celeb pals — such as her ex, Brad Pitt, and Drew Barrymore — Paltrow hops in a vintage Mercedes-Benz in the video when she receives a call on her cell.

“Gwyneth, Martha Stewart is on the line,” a male voice announces.

Paltrow stares into the camera, and responds, “Guys, I gotta take this,” as the same voice on the line responds, “It sounds urgent!”

Paltrow puts on some red lipstick, speeds off, and the promo ends.

Here it is:

And even though a “Goop insider” (which sounds fucking foul) says that the back and forth is all in good fun, someone should probably let Martha know because she plays hardball.

A Goop insider told us the Stewart mention in Paltrow’s latest ad is “a bit of a wink at [past] controversy,” but that, “GP has always been a fan of Martha. “They’ve always had a bit of back and forth. It’s all in good fun,” they said.

No doubt Martha saw this and is presently in her luxurious carriage house, shattering her “federal campceramics class nativity pieces into the perfect travel-sized shanks in preparation to retaliate.
