Chris Evans’ Fans Are Apparently Angry Over His Relationship With Alba Baptista

Last week, a couple days after Chris Evans was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive, a source told People he was madly in love with 25-year-old Portuguese actress, Alba Baptista. Apparently, these two have been dating for over a year. After the news broke, Chris’ fans flooded Instagram gossip monger DeuxMoi’s inbox with angry messages about the relationship. Now, when I first read this headline, I figured the stans were annoyed cuz Chris is 41 and Alba is 25. And, like, I get that. It’s always a bummer when an actor you admire pulls a DiCaprio. But, actually, that’s not the reason at all. ONTD reports that Chris’ fans are enraged because he kept his year-long relationship with Alba a secret. They see his pretending to be single while promoting his movies as a great betrayal. They feel used.

DeuxMoi posted an Instagram Story asking fans why they were so angry about Chris’ new relationship. One fan replied they’re not “unhinged,” they’re mad because Chris “played the internet boyfriend game” while promoting his movie, The Gray Man. See: the July interview where Chris said he was “laser-focused” on finding a partner. At that point in time, Chris would have been dating Alba for around 10 months. BETRAYAL. This anonymous fan also points out that the fanbase feels foolish because they consistently defended Chris against blind items and rumors, including scandalous gossip about him hooking up with young interns in Washington, D.C. Um, maybe there’s a reason Chris kept his relationship with Alba on the down low. This is… a lot. On the plus side, these people are no longer Chris’ fans. Might I suggest they replace their obsession with a hobby or an actual real-life boyfriend or a — oops, too late! They’ve already moved on to BTS. WE’LL KILL FOR YOU, [email protected]!!
