Here’s The Trailer For “John Wick: Chapter 4” Starring Keanu Reeves Who Might Also Appear In The Ana de Armas Led Spin-Off “Ballerina”

Like, off the top of my head, if you asked me what the John Wick movies are about, I’d just list a bunch of things like Keanu Reeves, dogs, guns, swords, rain, code words, horses, museum display cases, and Halle Berry that one time. The “plot” is so ephemeral and unimportant, they’re essentially impressionist paintings of murder and mayhem. The trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4 is no different, except it’s got Bill Skarsgård that one time instead of Halle Berry, and my impression is that it looks like a Pissarro. And I’m gonna watch the shit out of it just like I have the previous three. This means I’ll probably also watch the Degas -nspired spin-off Ballerina starring Ana de Armas, in which Keanu “is expected to make an appearance,” to see if he can help Ana break the curse we can only assume Jennifer Lynn Affleck placed upon her career.

Variety reports that in addition to Bill, who plays a “chilling villain” named the Marquis de Gramont, JW4 also stars Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen, Laurence Fishburne, who “oh right!” was also in JW3, Rina Sawayama, Shamier Anderson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown. JW4 will “delve deeper into the mythology” behind the Continental Hotel, with Lance Reddick returning as the hotel’s concierge and Ian McShane as Winton, the manager. Here’s the trailer.

OK, so my list pretty much stays the same, except now I have to add axes, nunchucks, pigeons, and candles that Smell Like My Vagina When Keanu Broods. As for Ballerina, Variety reports that it’s officially a go now that Ian McShane has “closed a deal to reprise his role as Winston,” which will be “pivotal” to the spin-off.

Keanu Reeves is expected to make an appearance as John Wick in “Ballerina,” a female-centric spinoff in the popular action franchise.

“Ballerina” stars Ana de Armas as a young female assassin who seeks revenge against those who killed her family. Any additional plot details remain a mystery, but producer Basil Iwanyk described McShane’s role as “pivotal.” It’s not clear how Reeves, should his deal close, will fit into the story.

“We’re thrilled to have Ian McShane joining us for a pivotal role in ‘Ballerina,” Iwanyk said. “He’s been such an integral part of the franchise since the original John Wick. It’s been fun to have him on this journey as the Wick universe expands.”

Hopefully, now that JLo has achieved True Love Forever with the Love of Her Life, she can release Ana from the Deep Water curse her career has been drowning under. I guess we’ll know how well things are going between Jen and Ben if Ballerina comes out looking less like a Degas and more like a Jackson Pollock.
