Millie Bobby Brown Said She’d Love To Take On The Role Of Britney Spears If There’s Ever A Biopic Made About Her

At just 18 years old, Millie Bobby Brown is already an industry veteran. She found fame at the tender age of 12 as Eleven on Stranger Things and has been in the public (and creepy Drake’s) eye ever since. She even co-produced her most recent Netflix original film, Enola Holmes 2, which she’s currently promoting. Millie just appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show and shared which career move she’d love to make that she’s yet to accomplish: playing the role of a real person. And according to Millie, she’d really do Britney Spears justice if she were to be cast as her in a hypothetical biopic. And it looks like she’s already really leaning into manifesting this since she’s been rocking the messy artificial blonde weave as of late.

Millie was on Drew’s show yesterday and hopped into the “Drewber” to chat with Drew while cruising the streets of Manhattan. And in between Millie and Drew squee-ing over how obsessed they are with each other, they talked about their common ground of growing up in the business–and this experience is what Millie says makes her perfect for the role of Brit Brit. via We Got This Covered:

This is where Brown thinks she can relate to the American pop star. Speaking to Barrymore about her dream role, the actress said, “I want to play a real person, and I think for me Britney, it would be Britney Spears.”

“I think her story, first of all, resonates with me. Just growing up in the public eye, watching her videos, watching interviews of her when she was younger. I mean same thing with you [Barrymore]. It’s like I see the scramble for words and I don’t know her, but when I look at pictures of her I feel like I could tell her story in the right way, and hers only.”

It’s this empathetic understanding that Millie Bobby Brown thinks she could bring to the role of Britney Spears, if there was ever a biopic made about her.

Here’s Millie chatting it up with Drew. Skip to the 5:23 mark to hear about her dream of playing Britney:

While Britney and Millie rose to stardom in different eras, Millie’s been through it herself during her time in the bidness, mostly because the internet is a shit hole and males in the industry are scum. But despite being told she was “too mature” to make it as a child star, Millie has had massive success and has so far avoided the cesspool of tempestuous predicaments that many a child star have found themselves in.

Brown found fame exceedingly young, making guest appearances in a variety of shows, including Grey’s Anatomy and Modern Family, before eventually landing the lead in Stranger Things playing Eleven, a role that would rocket her to fame at only 12 years old. Since then, she has made strides in the industry, winning numerous awards for her role as Eleven, and being named by Time Magazine as one of the most influential people in the world back in 2018, the youngest person to ever make the list.

I think Millie has the chops for this. Aside from the hair, doing the British accent that Britney’s been known to sporadically adopt will be no problem for her since she’s from England. Her intense Eleven gaze would transfer perfectly to all of the Britney Instagram scenes where she’d have to pose suggestively while staring directly into the camera. It’s still early, but Britney has yet to give her opinion on Millie’s proposition. She’ll either eat this shit up like a snack bag of Cheetos or tell Millie via an Instagram caption to “burn in hell! I want one of Christina Aguilera’s dancers to play me so I look smaller by comparison!” There’s no way to know.
