Rebel Wilson Announced That She Welcomed A Baby Girl Via Surrogate
Today, 42-year-old Rebel Wilson took to Instagram to introduce her new baby, a daughter named Royce Lillian. In the caption, Rebel thanked everyone who helped her on her fertility journey, including her “gorgeous surrogate” who carried and delivered Royce with “such grace and care.” So, what are our thoughts on “Royce”? Nameberry says its popularity peaked in the ’30s and ’40s when it was mostly given to boys. Now it’s back on the rise and being used for girls. I think it sounds like Rebel couldn’t decide between naming her daughter after her two heroes, Reese Witherspoon and Joyce DeWitt.

Very cute. Over the last couple of years, Rebel has been open about her struggles with fertility. She has PCOS (represeeent!), a hormonal imbalance that fucks with your ovulation. PCOS is a bitch cuz it causes weight gain, but the more weight you gain, the worse symptoms like infertility get. Rebel recently told People that, when she went to a fertility doctor in 2019, he told her she’d have a better chance of harvesting and freezing her eggs if she lost weight:
“I was taken aback. I thought, ‘Oh God, this’s guy’s so rude.’ He was right. I was carrying around a lot of excess weight. It’s almost like I didn’t think of my own needs. I thought of a future child’s needs that really inspired me to get healthier.”
Rebel ended up losing 80 pounds and freezing her eggs. In May 2021, she posted a sad picture of herself to Instagram and wrote that she got some bad news regarding her fertility. She added that she hoped there was “light about to shine through all the dark clouds.” Awww, it all worked out.
It’s unclear if Rebel will be co-parenting like Royce with her partner Ramona Agruma (oh wow, all their names start with ‘R’). Rebel went public with her relationship back in June, in response to an Australian newspaper threatening to out her. On Friday, Us Weekly reported that Rebel and 38-year-old Ramona were engaged and “wildly happy.” Rebel denied she’s engaged in an Instagram Story. Makes sense since Rebel doesn’t have time to throw a wedding when she’s busy cleaning up slobber off of baby Roycie, who may be looking at her like, “Um, can you just call me Lillian?”
