Hilary Duff And Aaron Carter’s Siblings, Nick And Angel, Paid Tribute To Him After His Death
Yesterday, Aaron Carter died WAY too young age of 34, after years of struggling. Aaron was well known for his young pop star career and being the little brother of Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys fame. During those teeny bopper years, his name was all over the teen mags for his relationships with fellow teen idols Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan. There was even a SCANDALOUS (not really) love triangle between the three, which cemented Aaron’s place as an early-aughts tween heartthrob. After hearing about his passing, Hilary posted some heartfelt words on social media about her young love.
Hilary and Aaron began dating when they were both 13 and broke up after about a year. Hilary dedicated a touching post to Aaron on Instagram.
At the time of his death, Aaron was in an off-and-off again relationship with Melanie Martin, who he shared an 11-month-old son, Prince Lyric Carter. Melanie and Aaron began dating in 2020 and quickly became engaged. He even got an ill-advised tattoo of her name on his face. However, their relationship seemed to be far from healthy, and they broke up several times, including when Melanie was arrested for domestic violence. They also both lost custody of Prince, who is living with Melanie’s mother, and Aaron recently said he was working to regain custody of his son. After learning of Aaron’s death, Melanie reportedly told TMZ:
“My fiancé Aaron Carter has passed away. I love Aaron with all my heart and it’s going to be a journey to raise a son without a father. Please respect the privacy of my family as we come to terms with the loss of someone we love greatly. We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.”
She’s since changed her Instagram profile picture to one of her and Aaron and posted a series of social media posts about her former fiancé. via US Weekly:
After Aaron Carter tragically died, ex-fiancée Melanie Martin has broken her silence on her loss.
My baby,” the model, 30, captioned a Saturday, November 5, Instagram Story photo with the late rapper. “I can’t breathe.”
Less than one hour earlier, Martin uploaded a TikTok video of herself crying in her car, which was posted shortly after news of Carter’s death broke. He was 34.
Aaron was estranged from his siblings in recent years. In 2019, his older brother Nick and his twin sister Angel Carter took out a restraining order against him, over alleged threats Aaron made against Nick’s then-pregnant wife Lauren Kitt. In her tribute to her twin brother, Angel writes that she’ll remember their happy times together. And Nick wrote that he hopes Aaron finds peace now.
