Liam Hemsworth Is Replacing Henry Cavill On “The Witcher” And Fans Are NOT Happy About It

Netflix’s hit series The Witcher has been slaying fans for three seasons with Henry Cavill’s blank yet beautiful face portraying the main character Geralt of Rivia. However, let’s not forget Henry also infuses his robotic-like acting into the role of Superman in the DCEU, so his bank account has become more swollen than his arms and chest over the past few years (he’s a big dude). But if you’re a fan of his work on The Witcher, you need to plan your escape now because Hot Henry’s tenure as Geralt is ending after Season 3 because he’s going to play Superman again. And Henry will be replaced by the skinniest Hemsworth of them all, Liam Hemsworth. And fans of the show do not approve of this decision.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Henry broke the hearts of many after announcing that season three will be his last time swinging his big sword all over The Continent as Geralt, but he also took time to prepare everyone for Liam’s recasting. And more than likely, it was an attempt to let the fans know, “You’re on your own now!” as The Witcher’s inevitable cancellation looms ominously in the background.
“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4,” Cavill said in a statement. “In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men.”
Marca.com reports the show’s official Twitter also released a statement to warn inform everyone Liam was on his way to take over the role soon. However, they can still look forward to seeing Henry one last time before Liam comes to drive the final nail into the coffin for the entire series.
After Cavill’s announcement, the fans found out they are getting a fourth season of the show but also about Cavill’s departure from the character.
It’s official: The Witcher is returning for Season 4, and Henry Cavill will be handing his swords to Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia after Season 3. Welcome to the Witcher family, @LiamHemsworth!

And as for Liam, he’s excited and ready to take on the role and put his own spin on it.
As a Witcher fan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure. Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.”
Unfortunately, Liam is the only one excited about this change. Because even though they can respect the Law of Surprise, they want Liam to know he will NEVER be able to fill Henry’s oversized Medieval boots.

No offense to Liam Hemsworth but I gotta agree not sure I have any interest in a Witcher Series without Henry Cavill
He was perfect in the role. Huge bummer he's leaving pic.twitter.com/1xsR2TnLiH

I predict the 4th season will probably be its last since nobody wants to see Liam in the Pewter-chic couture and 80s rock band hair that has become Geralt’s signature look. However, at least they informed fans early enough to express their rage so they can hate-watch Season 4 just to talk shit about Liam. I guess their Witcher-roo will be worth it after all, right? Yeah, that was bad. I’ll show myself out.
