Britney Spears Might’ve Come For Selena Gomez In Her Most Recent Shady Instagram Post

It was only a mere five-ish months ago that Britney Spears wed Sam Asghari in the company of a befuddling guest list that excluded her family but included the likes of Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, Madonna, and Selena Gomez (and almost Jason Alexander). At the time, no one really pegged Selena as a close enough pal of Britney that she would be at her wedding, and Britney is now making things even more confusing by seemingly shading Selena for perceived hypocrisy out of nowhere in her most recent Instagram call-out post. And for some reason, Britney has a real bone to pick with women licking lollipops and ice cream.

Hollywood Life says that Britney posted a call out in the caption of a photo of herself in a red bikini on Instagram yesterday, where she reamed out an unnamed person for publicly declaring that they were tired of seeing people’s bodies on Instagram, only to turn around and flaunt their own body and oral abilities when it was advantageous for them.

“Don’t you just love the nerve of women who stand firmly getting awards and speak on their beliefs about not showing their bodies on instagram [sic] ???!!!!! They say ‘This is NOT something I would do’ yet those women are the very ones who get 4 million dollar budget videos made about sucking and licking on homemade ice cream !!!!”, the star’s caption began. She also added that the next time she witnesses someone “with a big budget video sucking on lollipops” that she will call them out for being a “hypocrite.” Britney went on, “yet giving righteous speeches shaming other women for exposing their bodies, I would like to tell those people don’t be a hypocrite as you suck on your lollipop having HUGE budget dreams … why would you stand firmly against girls getting attention JUST LIKE YOU and they have absolutely nothing ????”

Here’s her post (before she deleted her diatribe and replaced it with rose emojis on her own account):

Figuring out that Britney was probably talking about Selena was not a case for the FBI; many who saw the post made the connection immediately. This is a switch-up from just a few months ago when Britney praised Selena for being a champion of mental health awareness.

…Although the “Toxic” songstress did not name anyone in particular, many of Brit’s fans took to the comments section to assume it was about Selena Gomez, 30.

…Fans seemed to be referencing the former Disney star’s speech at the 2016 AMAs, according to Just Jared. In Selena’s speech, she touched upon people posting their “bodies” to Instagram. “I don’t wanna see your bodies on Instagram, I want to see what’s in here,” the “Wolves” singer said while motioning to her chest. “I’m not trying to get validation, nor do I need it anymore.” Towards the end of the speech, Selena went on about those who are “broken” and that they “do not have to stay broken.” She also added that whether or not people respect her, she cares “about people.”

“Come off it already. She’s throwing shade at Selena [Gomez]. For no reason. That’s why she keeps bringing up Justin Bieber. Btw she’s talking about Selena and Black Pink’s ‘Ice Cream,’”

Here’s Selena’s speech:

Britney trigger warning: implied ice cream consumption. Here’s the scandalous video for Ice Cream:

First Hailey Bieber, and now Britney? LEAVE SELENA ALONE! At this point, Britney should just change her name to “Britney Smears” because she’s going in on any and everyone out here. And I don’t understand why Britney internalized Selena’s speech; Selena said she wants to see more of what’s in ~here~ on Instagram while motioning to her chest, and Britney has been freeing Titney on the bi-daily. She should’ve taken it as a compliment and encouragement for more naked beach-writhing!
