Ghislaine Maxwell Called Prince Andrew Her “Dear Friend” In A New Jailhouse Interview

If Prince Andrew woke up this morning with his ears burning, it wasn’t because another one of his idiosyncratic war injuries was acting up. It’s because 4,000 miles away in a Tallahassee, Florida jail cell, a woman Andrew claims to barely know, Ghislaine Maxwell, gave an exclusive interview to The Daily Mail and expressed sympathy for what her “dear friend” has been going through ever since she was tried and convicted of sex trafficking a minor and to sentenced to serve 20 years in prison. And if that wasn’t proof enough that Andrew and that woman he claims Kevin Spacey invited to Buckingham Palace to sit on his now deceased mother, THE QUEEN’s throne, were actually, in fact, at one point, two spoiled-rotten peas in a pod, Ghislaine pulled a total Prince Andrew by complaining about the variety of fruit available to her at meal times.

Yahoo! News reports that in a “bombshell jailhouse interview,” Ghislaine expressed sympathy for Andrew, I guess because all his friends are either dead or in jail. As we know, Andrew has maintained a state of being appalled ever since his former friend Jeffrey Epstein found himself in a bit of bother with the feds and subsequently became dead. Andrew has similarly tried to minimize his relationship with Ghislaine, especially in the wake of the now-settled civil suit Virginia Giuffre, one of Jeffrey and Ghislaine’s victims, filed against Andrew in which she accused him of sexual assault. Now Ghislaine, who is awaiting an appeal and therefore still trying to keep it cute, is waving at him from across the pond all “hey, bestie!” Yahoo reports:

Convicted sex-trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell undermined Prince Andrew’s assertions that he was never really that close to the convicted sex-trafficker, insisting in a bombshell jailhouse interview that he was actually a “dear friend.”

Speaking to Britain’s Mail on Sunday, the imprisoned socialite who helped Jeffrey Epstein procure girls said she has pity for Andrew: “I feel so bad for him.”

Andrew’s lawyers had argued in a legal filing back in January that a sexual assault lawsuit filed against him by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre should be dismissed because her claim that Maxwell and Prince Andrew were close friends was wrong. Giuffre had alleged that Maxwell helped Jeffrey Epstein groom her as part of their sex trafficking ring.

The prince always denied Giuffre’s allegation of sexual assault, but he was stripped of his military titles in the ensuing fallout. He later settled out of court with Giuffre.

Told that Andrew had apparently sought to distance himself from her, Maxwell seemed to suggest that his claim had been a strategic, scandal-dodging maneuver.

“Yes, I follow what is happening to him. He is paying such a price for the association [with Jeffrey Epstein]. I consider him a dear friend… I care about him,” she said.

But she went on to say: “I accept that this friendship could not survive my conviction.”

While they may no longer be on the same page in terms of their friendship, Andrew can take solace in the fact that Ghislaine still has a vested interest in not blowing up his spot entirely. With high hopes for appealing her conviction, Ghislaine has had some time to really examine that picture, allegedly taken by Epstein at her apartment, of herself, Andrew, and Virginia. Andrew has maintained that the photo was doctored in some way. I thought it looked pretty straightforward, but according to Ghislaine, SOMEBODY seems to have created an impossible-to-solve Spot The Difference puzzle. According to The Daily Mail, Ghislaine told Alan Dershowitz (OK, so at least one of Andrew’s friends still walks among us) that the picture looked legit in 2015, but now she’s not so sure.

Now, in a remarkable first interview from prison, Maxwell, 60, Andrew’s once-close friend, is attempting to come to his aid, insisting that she, too, believes the picture is a fake. ‘At this time, I no longer believe that to be a true image, and I don’t believe that it is what it appears to be,’ she says.

It is a brave statement, and at odds with what most experts, commentators and Mrs Giuffre herself say. But Maxwell seems convinced. ‘There are so many things that are wrong with it,’ she says. ‘As soon as my appeal is over, I will be very happy to discuss it with you.’

[Ghislaine]… now believes there are all manner of issues with the image. ‘I don’t know exactly how many points there are, but there are over 50 problems with the picture,’ she insists.

I mean, I think we can all agree that that photo is all kinds of wrong for many, many reasons, but an upside-down sailboat in a painting in the background is not one of them.
