Jamie Lee Curtis Pitched A “Freaky Friday” Sequel To Disney And Lindsay Lohan Is Up For It

We live in an era of constant reboots and remakes because Hollywood finally figured out that releasing the same story repeatedly generates revenue. And Jamie Lee Curtis has decided to take a hiatus from roasting big-headed celebrities to pitch an update for her 2003 hit comedy Freaky Friday. Jamie Lee revealed during an interview with The View that she has been in talks with Disney about a sequel, and once Lindsay Lohan heard the ding from the cash register inside her head, she immediately let everyone know she’s ready to switch bodies from Broke Broad into Rich Bitch!
Variety reports while Jamie Lee was doing press for her current project Halloween Ends, a fan asked if she wanted to do another Freaky Friday. She would, and later when she was on The View, she said she pitched a sequel to Disney:
The actor recently told a crowd in Mexico City while promoting “Halloween Ends” that she would “absolutely” do another “Freaky Friday.”
“The View” co-host Sara Haines asked Curtis about her answer and gave her the floor “to pitch Disney” on a sequel, to which Curtis responded, “I’ve already written to Disney, my friends at Disney. I’m in their new ‘Haunted Mansion’ movie.”
“Let me be the grandma! Let me be the old grandma who switches places,” Curtis continued. “So then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma, who is still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon…And simply, I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I wanna be a helicopter parent in today’s world, as an old lady.”
Now, this is a movie I would definitely watch…after it goes to streaming. I’m not paying to see the same shit again, I don’t care how much I love Jamie Lee Curtis. And according to TMZ, Lindsay is ready to temporarily leave her title as Netflix’s upcoming Christmas princess by getting a Disney check:
Lindsay Lohan is down to film a sequel to “Freaky Friday” with Jamie Lee Curtis … which means both the OG stars are on board if Disney wants to make a second movie.
Sources close to Lindsay tell TMZ … she’d be interested in a ‘FF’ sequel, but she hasn’t heard anything from the Mouse House, at least not yet.
Well DUH! Of course, Lindsay would jump at the chance to do this film because I’m sure her cupboards are bare and the rent’s past due. But good luck to you, Lindsay! And when your mother Dina Lohan calls you for a loan if this sequel ever happens, take a page out of Britney’s book and tell her to go straight to hell, and to take an Uber this time.
